11:30 siren on the Zafria. Old vehicle on an 11 plate in service but had similar siren on a marked focus of similar year. Loudest out of them all compared the Focus at the time

Uncle Kim quite right. We used to have the Whelan W295 siren some years ago on our traffic cars and PSU vans. They were and still are the loudest and best sirens ever. Look it up on KZread for a demo.

Usually, CID uses unmarked Golf GTIs and unmarked Ford Focus STs, rather than the normal police.

If its illegal to have blues n twos on civilian vehicles, then why do the public blindly let unmarked units through? Just proves how stupid the UK is tbh - there needs to be different numberplates that help out in spotting the different vehicles like in some EU countries where civilian cars have white numberplates, passenger vehicles e.g. taxis in blue numberplates etc. Maybe we should have red numberplates for our emergency vehicles - like put the numberplate in the window so when looking behind you, and you see a red numberplate then you'd know its a legit cop and not a fake one.

Thats would be incredible dumb, considering the point of an unmarked car is to be UN MARKED. and in general they move out the way because its very easy to tell the difference between a civilian putting lights and sirens on his car and a police car. Its also very rare it ever happens because its illegal to obtain them and carries a very heavy sentence. Also worth noting if its in London the unmarked cars are almost always mi5, special branch, armed police or the national crime agency... they only lights and sirens during actual emergencies and getting out of there way quickly will mean the difference between life and death.

Good idea, give unmarked police vehicles a different number plate compared to its civilian counterparts. That won't totally give it away and defeat the purpose of them.
If the police. Red a 4x4 why don’t they just get land rovers or Range Rover. Support British business and get a proper off roader if needed instead of an x5 that not great off rosd

Aaron Parak they do have land rovers and jeeps but they are usually only seen in rural areas, and all of these clips are in cities

Aman Singh well for my county we’re to poor to get x5’s as ARV’s so we opted for a Volvo XC90 T6 as our ARV’s we only have 2 of them to cover the county and they are perfect for off-roading and Urban areas

Far too expensive. They don't offer the same great discounts and ongoing parts/maintenance packages BMW do, because BMW has already built a huge customer base from their authorities division. Land Rover Discos were quite common in some roads policing units until a few years ago. They were only ever used to their full potential in snow, and they were restricted from being used the tactical phase of pursuit because of their box-like handling. The X5s are more 'sporty' and are fit for any purpose. Also some forces still have Land Rovers for rural units, but there's been a shift to Ford Rangers and the like because of cost. Again, a Defender is rarely required because it's never serious off reading - some forces even give them normal response cars because they rarely go off road either. Country lanes at worst.
