Please make this even somewhat of a reality. I've always been hesitant of fully electric cars because of various factors but this doesn't just look achievable, it looks desirable. Sustainability, sportiness, and excellent design. Love this ✌🏽❤

They are majority owned by geely now. So what car has either manufacture ever produced which has incredible handling? 🤔 This isn't Porsche Audi lotus we're talking about. Its polestar an off shoot ev spin off of Volvo majority owned by a Chinese company called geely. 🙂

Love when car companies shows and talks serious about prototypes that will never go to market.

Holy hell the CGI shots in this... The seat material animation in particular. The highest level. Major props to the team.

I wish every company would have such care for the environment in their planning. Please Polestar...make more cars, fast!!

They have to take apart the 718 Cayman EV or Tesla’s Roadster for that to happen. So far, none of those are available for reverse engineering.

@@EVMYT my 2018 Tesla 3 has been the most reliable car I have owned. It is 4 years old with 60 k miles still rock solid.

Please build it This is literally the best shaped hard top convertible I've ever seen, it looks as good with the roof up as it is down which is a thing many manufacturers struggled to achieve with hard tops

I never had the attitude to be "premium" and so I'm alright with hearing for example VR6 fueled engines reving. It is not about being "the fastest" anymore, but to have a car that can catch you emotionally and that is something the "technology of the past" is very good at. Therefore I think there is nothing wrong about loving older cars and their technology! I hope in the future the E-Fuels will keep these engines alive for long time...

exactly, for some reason manufacturers don't seem to understand that a sports isnt about being premium or being fast or being powerful. if that was the case, cars like the miata and the brz wouldnt have been successful. Its not like car people hate EVs or manufacturers for making such attempts, they too know its inevitable, but just dont label them as better :(

I love the sound of a combustion engine reving up and then me shifting gears because I know what is happening in this machine to make this possible. It is not flawless and this makes it even better!

one of my design book ideas came to my head as soon as i saw the drone. in brief, drone can be used as, - a warning device for traffic & dangers ahead. ( tech will get there soon) - a security/ surveillance camera while driving, providing 360 degree video record. - a holiday video camera on your journeys as shown in the video. Very happy about the approach you guys have taken on the sustainability aspect. This way of thinking will have a huge positive impact on the world. Cheers to a better & sustainable world.

Can you imagine every car having it? 😃 also kind of impractical given the drone has a limited battery and cannot scan all the time. Something important on the road ahead could happen while the drone is charging.

@@Crappiere But the fact that it's there and in case of collision can alert the authorities should outweigh any disadvantage.

Bruh imagine if the car breaks down, gets towed on a truck, and the drone accidentally starts flying, and catches some epic cinematic shots of you on your way to the mechanics lol Car looks dope btw

The drone is the best part! It will be a standard feature in every sports car in the future!

Quiet Car + Open Drop Top is just an amazing combination. Just need to go find amazing roads in beautiful places.

The designers at Polestar need to start making training workshops for other manufacturers.. what a line up of greatly designed cars

Have you sat in a Polestar 2? Might look very nice, but the back seat is more kids and the front console takes away all your front legroom. Internally much smaller that others in the size class. Anyway, who cares, no volume production.

@@PolestarCars I dont understand this..You guys honestly should just focus on making this 95% production model..because everyone is absolutely loving it in the feedback..100%..include the drone as an extra add on, I mean you cant lose here why wouldn't you just focus on mass manufacturing these. You would change the game in 5 years provided you can supply solid vehicles with good battery life to the insane amount of orders you would have for them. Everyone wants this so give the people what they want here in this case and you would be up there with audi, bmw etc. Very quickly

@@PolestarCars Why not, who is saying it can't be done? People are asking for it, so why not do it. You're leaving money on the table.

As someone who worked as Industrial Designer, there are so many factors that guide the selection of materials most important one being 'Cost to company' that is will they be able to make profit if we use that sustainable material. This is what hold us back. This aside the car design looks very neat and Polestar initiative to use sustainable materials is definitely applaudable.

I have always thought of installing drones for weekend car drives. This is done here in exceptional design. Nice

Keep going on this road of designing cars.

Great to see Polestar doing more excellent work. I've seen some Polestar 2 cars on the road and one of my favourite designs out there right now.

The car is amazing, absolute masterpiece engineering, technology, and sustainability! Love the conciousness of the lifecycle of the product and its impact on the world. Wish all companies had the same mentality so we can keep our Mother Earth healthy for future generations.

I’m really impressed ! Sharing a moment when you drive with the drone not only to drive fast it’s a really top top use of a technology!

Love the emphasis on sustainability in its design!

Thanks for the sermon Polestar! Was it written on recyclable tablets? It is a beautiful looking car, but surely filming yourself driving from a drone is the ultimate reach around.

I don't know why he neglected to mention that it has also unique recycling ventilated seats so that you can directly smell your own farts. I can, of course, understand the fascination of rolling down the window to evacuate foul air. Having said that, it's a thing of the past.

Such a big fan of polestars work so far 👏🏾.

Finally, an EV convertible I knew it was coming!!! I was so worried that the future of EV’s would all be staid SUV’s and that sports cars, coupes, and convertibles would go the way of the dodo bird. This company continues to do amazing work and I’ve been watching your progress closely since the Polestar 1. I’m glad to see all that’s being done over at Polestar any thoughts about one day establishing a digital product design (UX) team in the USA post IPO 👀👀👀.

I’m a huge Polestar fan. My next car may be a Polestar. But I absolutely strongly disagree with the comment “if you’re not electric, you’re not premium.” Premium is all in the driving and ownership experience. It’s most important with regard to reliability. There are plenty of ICE vehicles that offer an incomparably premium experience. Merging the experience with the tech is where you win.

Beautiful! Reminds me of the 1, but five years later.

I love Polestar’s vision of a sustainable car and a sustainable clean future, not only in cars but in a persons daily lifestyles but capitalism and greed has really polluted the industry, which sometimes make me doubt the future of Polestar but following the journey of Polestar and them slowly developing their own image and identity, I remain hopeful that Polestar will have a major impact on the car industry and for many car industries rethink their business model as we move forward from fossil fuels that have impact our environment and political fields negatively. A global shit needs to happen, the future is bright, and not bright for a reason because it opens new avenues for innovation and new ideas that will shape our future as we progress.

The O2 is awesome. I just hope that the O2 looks pretty much as cool and stylish as the concept vehicle, and most importantly that the range on a full charge is at least over 500+ miles, because that's what I need to enjoy my road trips, especially in a type of roadster :) ... Thanks for a really cool design and tech and looking eagerly forward to getting one. Make it happen!

Amazing compromise and development! Inovative and environmental responsive. Plus Design make me dream about the progressive evolution for a hybrid roads, on the ground and over the air. Congrats Polestar Team! I dream like these concept untill 37 years ago... very powerfull to me see like that, and much more advanced can i will be imagine.

Note sure how they are going to compete against the big electric market. Good Luck, love the drone feature!

Not at all. Designers are far more important than they are given credit for and some of the worst product experiences are from those products that were entirely designed by engineers.

I love my big displacement ICE sports car, and I’ve also owned high end EV before. Both got its pros and cons, which i accept as nothing is perfect in this world. However, what i cannot understand is why Polestar has to put ICE down, then to prop up its product as superior. This is not a tactic i expected coming out of them.

Yes that is true, I was also a little confused. But, honestly, I don't know of any company that hasn't put down past technologies to promote their products. It seems to be pretty standard business stuff. Additionally, some might argue that portraying EV's as truly premium is necessary in order for the shift to go more smoothly and quickly, which I don't disagree with.

Very simple. It is the same idea behind VWs chef comments - the future is electric, change now to the future and so on. Those are companies with their primary goal of a PROFIT. This is what drives them. Nothing.else. .

As we know competition is such high ideas like this will be highly rewarded. Love this car !!!

0:52 i understand where he is coming from and these designs do look amazing. But all electric cars are basically the same with just a different frame. Its the sound of an engine that got so many people into cars from a young age. The sound is what adds to the drama and even tho electic cars have fast acceleration, it gets old. Im not against EVs existing, but car reviews are just going to get boring within the next 5 years
