Polaris Ranger or RZR Won't Start

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

If you are having issues with your Polaris SXS not starting this could be your fix. Check your brake pressure switch. If you are out on the trail and you think it is the switch. you can un plug it and use a wire to jump the side going to the harness. Just make sure to tape the jumped wire up so it won't ground out. Great video Sir….thank you so much, Let me ask you this if I can… My 2018 ranger 900 XP will maybe do this once maybe twice per year it seems it won’t start exactly how you showed in your video but out and roll the machine forward or reverse maybe a couple of inches, get back in the machine, put it in park step on the brake and she will start then it’ll start, however now it seems to do it much more frequently and If I try to roll it. It doesn’t work every time I roll it forward or backwards So I’m not sure if it’s the brake sensor switch or if it’s a flat spot somewhere do you talk about this in your other videos that you can direct me to? Ty Kevin

    So you didn’t need to bleed after changing huh? I have an 06 500 fi and the switch is under behind SS fender in a pita location.

    The old part must have had a high failure rate. The new switch is a little different as you can see in the video. Thanks for watching Dirt Poor Tv.

    Would the brake pressure sensor cause nothing electrical to work? No winch, light, starter or fuel pump. It was fine after the last ride then after sitting a week I couldn't get any of these.

  • @dirtpoortv4483

    @dirtpoortv4483

    No, the brake switch would have nothing to do with fuel pump. These electrical issues would be from main power loss. One way to check that it is not the brake switch is to unplug the brake switch and touch both wires together. That will bypass the switch. Thanks for watching Dirt Poor Tv.

    Would the brake switch be causing my 2020 xpt just click when I try to start but yet the battery volts show 12.4 volts but if you stick jumper cables to it it fires right up

    this is exactly what my 2014 Ranger 570 is doing...battery is good...if I jump it to boost it it fires. Click click click...I wonder if it's a spark plug or voltage regulator? It did it with my original battery too. New battery didn't fix it

    Would this switch cause the motor to turn over slowly/ take awhile to fire? Every once and awhile the starter just clicks too.

  • @dirtpoortv4483

    @dirtpoortv4483

    No, I don't think so. Just unplug the switch and make a jumper wire for the harness you just unplugged. If it starts fine, it is the switch. If it still turns over slow the switch is not your problem. Thanks for watching Dirt Poor TV

    would this cause a ranger that is running to just randomly shut off?

  • @dirtpoortv4483

    @dirtpoortv4483

    No it would not make it die after it is started. if you want to test it just unplug the pressure switch and make a jumper wire. Then insert it into the harness side so it will complete a circuit and the unit should start. If it dies the switch is not your problem. Make sure you tape or protect your jumper wire so it does not go to ground. Thanks for watching Dirt Poor Tv

    I went on Polaris’s website and they said this part isn’t correct for my 2018. They say #4081117 is the right part and looks more like the OEM. 🤨

    Parts and part numbers change all the time. At the time of this video these where the parts that were available. If Polaris is giving you different part numbers, then I have I would recommend using Polaris's numbers. I received this part from my local Polaris dealer, and it has work flawlessly.
