This is probably my favorite song off the album. The last half of this song is probably my favorite section of Polaris’s discography.

Adding that bit of grit into the cleans is such a great choice. It's definitely an opener, but it absolutely flies by. 'I'm staring down the barrel, cutting through the marrow, right through the bones' the flow of the lyrics throughout the album are incredible, but this song starts at 10 ❤️

The best song is nightmare
I love how the opening tracks get better each release. Lucid was out the gate running, while Pray for Rain and Harbinger slowly build up then bang.
The phrasing in the cleans is familiar yet not, wondrous yet restrained. How an album written with could be so mournful yet entirely celebratory is anyone's good guess. In any other words, this album is the most complete and resplendent in your catalogue, and a standout across music this year. Triumph never sounded so bittersweet.

These lyrics are so to me. As someone who goes through suicidal ideations, especially in the gym, these lyrics reach beyond my depths.
Whole album is incredible but mannnn this opener has to be one of if not the best album openers ever to exist.
