My family loves our general xp4. It has bought so much happiness and the memories it is creating is something I wish everyone could experience. Every time we take it out the GENERAL it impresses us even more of its capabilities. You know when its a comfortable ride is when you have teenager that is all about riding dirt bikes and quads enjoys riding in the GENERAL or the Rover as we have named it feels like there is a stronger bond with the family and he feels he has a greater appreciation for the outdoors when he can sit back and enjoy.

I remember about two years ago I climbed to the top of competition hill in the Buttercup Sandune‘s just south of Glamis. I saw a Polaris general for the first time. I thought it was so cool looking and reminded me of my old Yamaha rhino. When the guy took off I was impressed with its power and its ability to climb the hill. The machine would not compare to my YXZ but it was very capable and had a usable cargo bed.

I don't care what anyone says about Polaris. They continually raise the bar for SxS's. Luke is a trusted tester. Consider adding some kind of road test. SxS's are street legal in many places now. Let's push manufacturers to offer turn signals and a horn. Are they comfortable at typical road speeds? Stuff like that.

The RZR Turbo is clearly faster, but the General is super comfortable and has loads of power, plus it rides like a dream. If Polaris introduced one with DYNAMIX and a turbo, it would be the best SXS on the market. Expensive, but awesome.

Price alone removed the general from my considerations when I was shopping. Size was a concern too. Availability was also a huge issue since I started shopping in may. I ended up buying a left over 19 Wolverine X4. It was the better choice as it fits down most of the quad trails around here. A bigger machine just wouldn't work for half of the places I've been recently.

@@MassiveOverkill What would they be trying to hide with information like that? They dont post it because for the VAST majority of people it is irrelevant. Unless your an engine builder, these numbers would be just for the sake of information. The turning radius is big. Definitely. But this is a 4 seat SXS WITH a cargo box. You can get shorter 4 seaters, but not with all 4 seats AND a dumping cargo box. So the general really does occupy space in the market nothing else does. Ummmm.... Im just going to strongly advise against the commander. Especially if you want to go fast. The rear suspension does NOT work well at higher speeds. If your a die hard can am guy, go with a Maverick sport or something. If your not a can am guy, the General is the better choice by FAR. As for speeds, its not so much about the displacement as it is about the horsepower. 100 horsepower feels REALLY good. Weather it comes from an 800 or a 1000.
