The reason Atticus speaks in Shakespearean is because in the japanese version he’s speaking like he’s from an old samurai period drama (see like, ghost of tsurushima and Yakuza ishin) and they decided to localize that by doing shakespearean and I just think that’s neat

Story is something that Pokémon rarely does right but I think they did a pretty good job this generation. I especially love the story with Arvin and his dog. The only other games that can compete are black and white and sun and moon.

@@glich984 yeah I agree. They were the games I started with so I like them a lot but I’m a little biased. The main problem is the hand holding and the cutscenes because it makes the games a slugfest and hurts replay ability. I do like that we are getting to see a lot of their concepts being brought back though with the titan Pokémon basically being totem Pokémon and with the more tropical feel.

The thing about the Ryme battle is that she can also get the same stat boosts from the crowd, mainly if she knocks out one of your Pokémon. Feels like a fight that can be super easy or super hard depending on how things play out.

@@AlexDayz strange. For me, only my pokemon got boosts. And the crowd mentioned how that was a good timing to teralatilize one of my pokemon at the start. (I had a fire/ghost and made her pure fire to get rid of one of her weaknesses) the gym leader never got a boost

Yeah, I completed all of my classes before battling Elite 4. I loved getting to know the teachers, getting exp candies from the exams and even getting some side quests, like the history teacher who tells you about the staves in the ground where you can get 4 ruinous pokemon legendaries. I got half of the staves so far, but have been looking at a guide to help me find the rest. lol

Fun fact. In Scarlet and Violet, between the gym leaders, team star bosses and elite four, there is someone representing each typing EXCEPT for Rock Type. Maybe people could do a rock type only challenge for this game.

There is a teacher who was a retired rock-type gym leader. But sadly we can only battle her in post-game tournament, so yeah. Although, with the class activities, we actually get stories and interactions about her and the other teachers as much as the other specialists (gym leaders, elite 4, and star boss), or sometimes arguably even more.

I've gone through the post game school tournament 24 times already and still havnt faced her yet. I think it's random who you face in the first few rounds and I've just been insanely unlucky.

Thats because Geeta represents rock type. That's why her Glimmora terastalizes to rock.

Scarlet and violet are the perfect examples of. Good concept. Good pokemon. Fun characters. But it suffers from being the first of its kind. But i can look past it because this games too fun to quit. The movement is also really fun. I cant wait to see where pokemon goes from here.

Bad animations with basically no efforts in the overworld’s look A huge load of glitches, many gamebreaking Annoying back and forth gameplay Unnecessary loading times and optimisation Weak characterisation False “open-world”ness Listen, I love the franchise, but people need to start getting tired or holding Gamefreak accountable for bad games, they slow down effort on the games for a reason

I finished the story of team star yesterday and I was crying like a baby. I was feeling so many emotions. These are the best Pokemon games we've had in years. Everything after gen 5 has never provoked that much emotion in me. Now here we are with gen 9 and I get emotional all the time. Arkoos, I love Pokemon.

You know. I'm impressed with how my mixed opinions completely changed after I played the game. I first didn't like how you get a legendary at the start but that legendary is actually weak at the start and you go through the story taking care of them and making them stronger. (it also helps that they have a personality) Team star seemed boring to me and i didn't want to do them at all at the start. My friend told me to do one to get through an area. It started as me just doing them for the items but now I'm invested in the story (the path of legends doesn't really count because I already wanted to do it to begin with) And I thought teralatilizing pokemon looked a bit silly but I'm not sure if they changed the design because it doesn't look that big on the pokemon now. And it's clever how you can use it to get rid of weaknesses. Over all, if it wasn't so buggy or laggy sometimes, I think I would be enjoying it 100% and not just 95%

hello! if it's something you're interested in, i think i can explain the way atticus speaks. i haven't played through the game in japanese yet, but if i had to assume in japanese atticus speaks in a very archaic way associated with ninjas. things like ending his sentences with "de gozaru" or using pronouns like "sessha". to a japanese listener this speech pattern would be kinda like shakespearean/archaic english. i think to give english-speakers the same effect they made atticus speak this way, although we don't really associate that way of speaking with ninjas.

Eh, the sound is its cry though, not it moving. It sounds like tv static to me so that could be part of it (cause ghosts mess with electronics)?

I didn’t expect the most life-like thing to happen in Pokémon would be school admins not knowing about severe bullying🥴

This game may have bad graphics and performance, but I feel like it more than makes up for that with the other elements. This is my favorite story from any Pokémon game, the characters are more fleshed out than ever, and despite the low quality graphics some areas can still be beautiful. I also love all the new Pokémon designs, and find the game very fun to play. My only problem is that Bruxish is in the dex.

Between the Dying Dog and the School bullying this game is very emotional

I got the feeling that mikey was supposed to hold the buttons or press them multiple times in the psychic gym challenge, mainly because I suppose that "OK" isnt the best response you can get 😅

technically that veluza ain't vaulting. Also, Mikey, Jacq will give you a ton of *quickballs* if you talk to him at the school!

Glimmet was my first shiny I actually didn't know it was shiny at first because it was the first one i ran into and I had sneezed right when i entered battle with it, non outbreak; it was only after i looked at my profile and saw that I had encountered a shiny that I looked through my pokemon boxes and found out that it was a shiny.

They did such an amazing job with these story lines. I got emotional too when they were talking about getting bullied. I agree, I wish I had a team growing up, would have showed those bullies whats up.

In the gym battle your Pokémon kept getting boosts because of the cheering mechanic in terra raids so when the crowd cheered it was probably a reference to that.

Also, this is the gym that made me wish there were more double battles in this game.

yup I think you're right since 1st is always 3rd Gym you go to when you have 2 badges, next is whatever the 5th gym is for you after having 4 badges and then there's always 1 more once you have 2 more badges
