I worked a little bit on the Emerald decomp back in the day, part of actually creating the decomp. Actually maybe it was just Ruby/Sapphire, but I did contribute to the GBA decomps a little.

Trepmaws is actually kind of a cool name. Is sounds like Trapmaw, which would be a cool ass name for a pokemon.

Well he lost access to surf and you need surf to reach the area you could capture magnemite in the first place

Eviolite is the one that gives unevolved Pokemon +1 Def and SpDef, and isn’t in Gen 3 If you mean Everstone, i don’t think it works like that, and would kinda go against the challenge? It’s backwards progression, and Everstone doesn’t let you evolve earlier

After each gym, the game automatically deletes all pokemon that you wouldn't have access to at that point
