The thing is, I'm a man, and I would easily follow the rules of the Man Card... But only because: - I'm a tall person, and taking any kind of baths is uncomfortable without access to a freakishly large bathtub (which I don't have) - There is no such thing as meatless bacon close to where I live - I do not know what the "Lifetime" channel is, and I don't even own a TV - I do not drive - I do not refer to anything as forest bathing, as: 1. Depressing fact: "Man" used to mean people (of any gender), and male people had a different word, "wer". But becouse people came to be considered male unless otherwise gendered "man" become male and "wer" was dropped. So the history of the English language is like "the two genders: people and women". (And yes, "wer" is where "werewolf" comes from.)

Look at "Mann and Gender in Old English Prose: A Pilot Study" by Christine Rauer if you want something a bit more academic looking at the usage of these words in a source text. (This is what I found quickly searching around. My original sources are (ironically) not in English, so probably not much point listing them.)

I’m a trans guy that’s pretty much early on in my transition. I haven’t started T yet but I wear binders and dress masculinely, i even an gendered correctly by strangers as long as they haven’t heard me speak. I’ve come out to my mom and my brother who both live in a different province than me and I currently live with 3 friends as roommates. I went to visit my dad a few weeks ago who hadn’t seen me in person since January and he looked at me and said “it’s almost like you’re trying to look like a boy or something”. My dads a big aggressive man that I know is transphobic. I’m not ready to come out to him yet and didn’t know what else to say so I just said “but am I a pretty boy?” And that spongebob meme makes me think of that situation so much lol

Inspirit 0609 would you tell someone to just “get over”, say, a fear of spiders? it’s not something that can just happen easily or immediately. it’s the same with this person’s fear of men - it’s not something they can just “get over” especially if there’s possible trauma behind it (with the spider example, maybe they’ve been bitten by one before which would’ve either caused and/or elevated their fear) stop acting like their specific anxiety is easy to get over, especially since you’re clearly unaware of its severity. you don’t know anything about this person or what they’ve been through - get a hold of yourself.

Gammareign they’re not saying they hate men? they said that they’re afraid of them because they’ve caused them trauma. I do agree that hating men solely because they’re men is a bad attitude, but this person never expressed that. being traumatised by someone because they’ve caused you pain and fear is not “discriminatory”. blind hatred and traumatic fear are not the same. I hope you understand.

So wait, if bleeding is a man thing, are my periods making me manlier? 😀

When I first started my transition i struggled with a lot of toxic masculinity issues which I am starting to move past. Early on i bought a shirt with "Sawdust is man glitter" on it. At the time it really helped me affirm my gender when I felt I had to present as a hyper masculine man. Now it's just a funny shirt that I enjoy wearing and I get a lot of comments on it from people thinking it's funny. Also it's super comfy.

I needed this after the terrible day I’ve had.. I got some men’s shorts since my Nan gave me the money for shorts. My dad kept pointing out they’re for men and was mad at me, it made my mum mad at me since she sides with him.. they keep teasing me for wearing the clothes I’m comfortable in. I’m FTM trans and closeted due to my terrible father.

@@FloofDog Yeah, i was going to say to tell them that it's because they're longer and stuff. Like you'd think they'd appreciate you not wanting shorts that literally shoe your ass. I'm s trans guy but I wear feminine stuff cuz I still pass in fem stuff, I got women's shorts, and they were so fucking short, like wtf. I couldn't tell how short they were until I put them on.

In the uk, gendered pacifiers (or dummies as we call them) are used to indicate the babies gender whilst you are out in public. If a child is dressed in gender neutral clothes it can a be social faux pas to use the wrong pro nouns.

@@MarcyTheKindaCoolWizard I work in a pharmacy with a baby stuff section in the UK and most brands do blue/green ones with jungle animals and spaceships, and pink/purple ones with butterflies, birds and flowers. Basically people tend to not want to ask about the gender (British awkwardness) so it's A more subtle way of indicating when the baby us dressed in a more neutral (read not aggressively gendered) onesie or outfit.

@@ultimatehawkeyefangirl Pockets are useful. I'm all for pockets. Pockets in underwear are handy for when you have to keep something special hidden or you don't want to have obvious hiding places. I still say that, if you can't find what you are looking for, you probably will have to make it yourself. You have the original, so you are better set to study the construction of the item so that it can be copied and remade. Without a pattern, you aren't going to see a lot of people just experimenting, or maybe you will. It's also possible that a random comment in a random video will be noticed by a garment maker and they will be able to spend the time to figure out how to make it work. Stranger things have happened.

In German, an old-fashioned and slightly derogatory term for a gay man would be 'warmer Bruder' (warm brother). Apparently it hails back to the days when same-sex (platonic) love was actually encouraged by the church as sworn brotherhood/sisterhood until they found out how homosexuals basically got married that way and abolished it again.

In Czech Republic, it's also a slang to say warm instead of gay. I hate it. What kind of an imbecile came up with that? I'd like to travel back in time, to before it was a popular slang word, and run over the person who invented it with a heavy truck.
