There was a transgender guy in my class who told us his story. His parents kicked him out when he came out, they called him a weird he she and hated him. He said his parents are very religious and they thought he had serious mental problems. I don't understand people with so much hate in them for something people they have no control of. He was taken in by a friend and the friends parents helped him transition and gave a roof over his head for 2 years.

My family lives in the Bible Belt. Half Roman Catholic, half southern Baptist. My brother finally came out to us as gay. He was convinced we would be upset. He came out by telling us he was in this LGBT group. We're like, "That's awesome!" He was like, "Um...it's an LGBT group." "Yeah, and...?" He was so surprised that we were all so chill about it. We just told him that we love him for him. Our dad was a military officer for almost 2 and a half decades, and he was born and raised in the south in a Baptist family in the 1930s. He was so great about it. He just worried my brother would get AIDS, and he was really scared for him. My mom explained that even if he gets HIV and develops AIDS, it's not a death sentence anymore. Thankfully, my parents have always been super supportive of him.

Once I got the opposite effect of that whole "haha accidentally reaffirming transmen by forgetting that they exist" thing. Was working on a research project with a prof and another student. The project was actually about how gender identity and race intersect in juror decisions. Prof knew I'm trans, but I didn't end up mentioning it to the other student until like halfway through the project. She went :OOO "You don't look trans!!!" I'm DFAB and can't pass to save my life. I just quietly whispered "I know..."

ok yesterday I was eavesdropping on my parents and sister who were arguing about me being trans and my parents were saying it was a phase and stuff but my sister was AMAZING and she was saying about ‘let her wear the school trousers’, ‘let her cut her hair’, ‘if you’re so worried get her a therapist’, ‘you’re building a bad relationship with her, you have to stop this’, ‘I’m only calling her she/her pronouns because you won’t let me use he/him’, I couldn’t ask for a better and more supportive sister :3

i live with a mixed bag of people, so i can't start my transition. my grandfather is totally cool with me being trans, but still uses feminine pronouns for me because i'm still mostly in the closet. why? because my grandmother is most decidedly *very* against LGBTQ+ things. she sees a gay couple on TV and is disgusted. if i'd gotten married to my (now ex) girlfriend, she'd probably have disowned me, even though, to me, it was a straight relationship. my aunt... might know? she did know, anyway, and said as long as i'm still wearing dresses (duck you, clothing doesn't have gender, i wear what i like) she refuses to acknowledge me being a dude. that was years ago. she's probably forgotten that i'm actually her nephew, not her niece. my mother, when i told her, acted supportive, but i think she was trying to shame me out of it, because she spent the first year after i came out telling everyone that i was her son... while i was making zero attempt to pass. didn't even have a binder at that point, so BOOBS. only reason my grandfather knows is because she outed me to him. so that was fun.

I am an art student and I also realized I was projecting who I wanted to be in my original character that I've had since I was very little.(Who is a guy) Today I told my mother and she was very accepting she even told me she was expecting it since Ive acted like a boy since before I could talk. As a 16 year old I just believed I was being silly and should burry my true feelings. You're video's are helping me learn and come to accept that im not weird im just expressing my true self. Came out to some friends this month, slowly working on a name, likely never truly coming out to my family beyond NB. You always have time to come out. It may be at 26.5 and that’s okay. I buzzed my hair on Easter and I feel so good and euphoric and it’s honestly so insane. I want top surgery but that’s.... unlikely to happen. It’s expensive. But one day!

Also, never be afraid to go with a label for a bit, theres nothing permanent about the human experience, and that includes what words we use to describe ourselves, labels can change and using whatever makes you comfortable and then moving on if you find one that suits you better, or just not using labels is valid as all fuck and a massively integral part of being queer and being human :)

It’s tricky to try and convince people, sometimes they just need time and space, and maybe gentle education. As something more immediate you could always do an online shopping thing, where you guys chat on the phone etc. Whilst browsing stuff online? Don’t know if that would work. But I’m sure having your support (you sound like an awesome friend) is super helpful for him.

I'm not sure exactly what their mom's ideas are, but I know my mom. She's similar and respects chosen pronouns but thinks that there's a good chance a minor doesn't know what they're talking about (cuz having literal panic attacks over your body obviously means nothing), but like I said she uses pronouns and just thinks that they shouldn't be allowed to have gender reassignment surgery. If his mom isn't yet respecting his pronouns/letting him wear more boyish clothes, I think to convince her you should say that these things aren't permanent, and if he is wrong, don't you want him to find out now by seeing that being a boy isn't right for him, instead of him going out into the world without knowing and having the possibility of screwing up much more permanently (grs)? Also, I'm not sure I hold my mother's opinion but I think it's a valid opinion to have. I think more along the lines of, "You should want it consistently for 1-3 years before getting it," I think. That's my mom's opinion on tattoos, so I guess our opinions are flipped lol.

So I know he won't understand that I'm Trans. I don't have any tips sadly exept maybe trying online shopping ? That's what I'm trying to do with my bro to get stuff so that's kind of my advice. Alexander Chinchilla I’m sorry to be the buzzkill explaining the comment. But it’s like saying that the dream of getting a billion dollars can be compared to the dream of becoming a fully transitioned woman. Just because a billion dollars seems quite unattainable (unless your Steve Jobs), it still wouldn’t hurt to have a million dollars (a value significantly below a billion, but still higher than most people’s net worth). So, when comparing to transitioning, just because someone will never become a “real” woman (in society’s highly subjective standards), it doesn’t hurt to pursue their dreams to the highest possible extent

Why did my school say no to gender neutral toilets? Because they didn’t have enough bathrooms? No. Because they didn’t care for the Trans, Gender-fluid, Bigender, And non-binary (i know I missed some) people? Yes. Also I was the only kid who had that idea and one of the only people to help and try to convince my school to give us Gender Neutral toilets. It didn’t happen. Edit: Y’all are so supportive of this, like why did this single comment get 73 likes and 8 replies? Edit 2: I have a question, do I have to find a gender to identify with? Keep fighting!! A group of students at my high school were able to change one of the staff bathrooms into a gender neutral bathroom. It took nearly a full year but it was worth it. Start small, talk to other students and get support from the student body. Find teachers that you can trust and get them on board, they will also be able to direct you to the people who will make the actual changes (not always the principal). Then start presenting the idea to the people in charge, show then the support that you have and give them a plan for how they can make it happen. One person can make a difference but you have to start small. Good luck!

I barely love to talk about myself.. but I saw a lot of beautiful comments and a lot of supportive people here, so I kinda wanted to say a little bit about me Well.. I mean, about my gender and my opinion I'm Genderfluid. Yeah, it's what I am. But that doesn't mean I'm happy with it. I wished a lot to be just a normal girl (because I was born as a female) or a ftm at least But life punched in my face "nah my dude, all your life you'll be stuck trying to fit in the general's boxes" I'm not mad at what I am, that's telling me that I'm unique and special. But if I had the choice, I'll love to change that I still didn't tell my parents. They wouldn't believe it anyway. But I appreciate them, they're pretty fine with the usually LGBT (Gay, lesbian, trans and bisexual) but that's it, nothing more for them I tried to told my mother I was Pansexual.. she gave me that looks- I can't describe it. It was like she thought I was making a joke or something And my dad- He doesn't even really tried to understand. I think he forgot about it five minutes after I told him The only person I told I was Genderfluid is my grandmother.. she was perfect. I mean, the first time my dysphoria started hitting hard, I thought I was trans. So I told my grandmother I was trans, but she said to me "no you're not". Not gonna lie, that was very painful to heard because she always been supportive and helped me with my depression. After a month, I was back as a girl. I never been so confused in myself. I thought I was just a lie. I felt so bad.. until I became a guy again. And after a couple of time, I discovered the gender.. Genderfluid. And then again, I ran back to my grandmother and told her I wasn't Trans, I was Genderfluid. And then.. she said "I always knew it. I couldn't find the perfect word to told you what I thought you were. From since we adopted you, I knew you weren't just a little girl." I was in shock, for real Knowing someone knew what I was before I knew it myself- It was good to hear.. BUT I'm still mad at my gender tho ahah Love y'all, hope you'll have an happy life

Your grandmother is a wonderful person. When I came out as genderfluid as well to my mom, my family is very big lgbtq+ supporters, she was very cool about it. I hope you can come to be at peace with your genderfluidity and enough with the ramble. All I wanna say is, be who you are.

@@archerhitthetarget Oh, its different for everyone ! I'm the kind of person that doesn't really care about their own genders anymore. I mean, when I become a guy, I will not do anything about it, I'll just stay the same person and live my normal life. I still tell some people that I'm genderfluid, but I suggest them to only use "she/her" because I know its hard to see when I'm a guy or a girl, and luckily, I'm not feeling bad anymore when people are misgendering me.. (just a little bit sometime-). But ! There's people that have more difficulty with their genders. Those kind of people usually when their gender change, they also change their styles about their clothes.. and other stuffs. But there's always other different kind of people. Sadly, I choose to stay and hide the fact I'm genderfluid because the people at my place isn't ready to hear that. And for me, I think the best think is to stay who I am, without feeling the pressure to wear man's clothes when I'm a guy

This was amazing. I love yours and OT's reactions videos altogether, they are so funny and light my days. But this one man ... this was so many feels. I am a trans man (10 yrs down) and seeing people voicing out things that used to be so hard and are still everyday stuggles or showing their progresses, etc are so wholesome. The last one had me crying. I lost my mom the day I came out (long story short it went really bad so I had to cut ties in the end) and haven't told my dad yet (yes 10 yrs on testosterone and he hadn't realized it seems ahah). Seeing some parents out there make me so happy and proud. I am happy to see other trans not going throught the same things I did, it makes me really happy. There is nothing better than seeing someone being finally able to be their real self and to see them have support from their loved ones is even better. Thanks for sharing these. We rarely see the good sides of things that can happen. Let it be good examples for people =)

So, this hits close to home, not because I'm trans, but because Im dating a trans male. His parents dont completely support him, they deadname him, call him by the wrong pronouns, and dont seem to put an effort at home to make him feel safe. I've been with him for 2 months now, today's our 2 months anniversary. His deadname is as dead to me as it is to him. I never even use his deadname in a phrase, no words that even have the word in any way. I support him in every way, anything that makes him happy, I support. To he with him irl, I have to sacrifice contact with my whole family, my father knows and only somewhat accepts me being this way because hes a doctor, he told me "If your mother knows, shes either going to kick you out, starve you, or kill you on the spot." I'm living life on the edge, but no time have I EVER considered leaving him, and I will NEVER consider that. Seeing him so happy makes me the happiest person on Earth. Edit: There is one thing we tell eachother, which is one I made when we were talking. I told him, that together we're going up the steps of success, and if he were to ever fall down some steps, or even fall down back to the start, I'm going down those steps and taking him back up to the path of happy living. The one thing we tell eachother when we're sad is "Step by Step". It makes me smile when I say it and he says it back with a slight laugh and confidence. It warms my heart.

Im not trans but I am part of the lgbtq+ community and it's so amazing just at least to have one person support you!!!! Im not completely out of the closet yet but it still feels nice to have someone!♡♡♡ And if you think that no one's supporting, while I am!!!!♡♡♡♡♡
