That is the most beautiful album I have ever heard in my entire life. Hands down. I wish they would come to the United States and tour. If they do I know they don't do it very often. I've been listening to their music since I heard late goodbye in the Max Payne two video game back in like 2003 I heard that janitor humming it and it just kind of clicked and then at the end you get to hear the actual song and that was it.. I had to know more. And I'm thankful that I did. Their music has.. it's always been there through good times and bad. It always will be. The world would be much darker place without Poets of the fall. Music is life.

Marko Saaresto, you can't beat that voice. Many of the non guitar "strings" are actually Markus "captain" Kaarlonen on keyboard meshed with a computer running a set of music files coded with java script.

Carnival of Rust from Poets of the Fall was the first song I heard from them and it was just video thumbnail, I believe that caught my attention. Not the best to use but imagine my surprise when I fell in love with this song. Since then I love the band. Lift, Daze, Choice Millionaire, Angel, ect...found they were one of the bands where I like most of their songs and that is rare for me. I know some believe that they should be well known but seeing the Reaction videos to their music always put a smile on my face. Glad you liked them. They are gem to be found and enjoy.

The woman activates him with the coin which could represent love, and he shuts down when she leaves the carnival probably because her presence and love keeps him alive. He also tell her to not walk away. That would be my interpretation, but I think its really something about the soul and its journey.

What's amazing about this band is that they are probably the most professional Live band in Finland at least. They sound just as good (or even better) live as on the album. None of these "If it's live, it's enough that it's something in the ball park".

POTF is one of those groups whose music in terms of listening is excellent, provoking, and varied in style. That's if you're only the average person listening. If you're someone with a history in music, and so many of us are, you hear SO much more, and the more you dig into the mechanics and chemistry of each song and album, the more you fall in love with them. They are musicians of the highest tier in terms of expression and lyrics. This song, as so many are, is up for debate on its meaning, but a large number of us hold that it is the song of a man who has had an affair with a married woman and is begging her to stay with him because what they felt is a genuine form of love and connection, intimacy which is much deeper than just pleasure. Their lyrics run so damned deep and if you don't fall in love with one song, they have at least four more you will love. They are just that good and it is only their ethics of being self-produced so they don't fall down the usual well that keeps them from becoming bigger than they are.

Poets of The Fall is one of my favourite bands, very underrated band with alot of great talent within. Markos soothing vocals is just 1 of thoose talents. I discovered them through the release of the videogame Max Payne 2 The Fall of Max Payne. There they had the main soundtrack with "Late Goodbye". I would also recommend theyr song "Temple of Thought " wich is recorded live in studio with unplugged guitars and bass. There you will hear the raw talent from every band member! If you want a more uptempo song by them,"Lift" is one that kicks it off pretty nicely. To hear more range in Markos voice, "Daze" is a good suggestion. I remember back in the day,i had theese guys alongside U2 and other greats on my top Myspace friendslist, and i wrote back and fourth with them every now and then. That was when every band or artist used Myspace to reach out to theyr supporters. Im sure i still have them on my list there,i just havent been logged in for ages lol.

Amazing band. Instead of teaching your children what good music is, the other way around seems also possible 😉. If you want something different, react to *AYREON* with A TOP LINEUP OF MANY MUSICAL INTRUMENTS/SINGERS: The Source is the 9th studio album from Ayreon, a progressive metal/rock opera project by Dutch musician Arjen Anthony Lucassen, released on April 28, 2017. *_"The Day That The World Breaks Down"_* is a song that features all 11 (well known) main guest singers (don't want to mention those names (surprise)) and is taken from that album. Arjen himself is telling (in subtitles) who the singers are and which instruments are used and by what standards. Btw. The clip is 13 min. long and I think you won’t regret it !!
