This is so great to see. Thank you! I met Dorianne Laux twice, and she encouraged me to keep writing, for which I was grateful. She came to my undergrad Creative Writing class in the early nineties (a class led by Frances Mayes), and then around a decade ago, she read in San Francisco’s North Beach. I love her earthy and elevating poems and enjoy her books!
Wonderful! It was clear that the poems you chose and your warm conversational presence made Dorianne feel so at home. You two were a delight together. She welcomed your questions and made us feel invited over for an intelligent and humor-dappled time. Thank you!
