underdog: person or team in a competition or situation who seems least likely to win
look down your nose at (someone): think you are better than or superior to (someone)
choking: failure of a sports player or team to perform their best due to psychological pressure or social expectation
top dog: (informal) most successful, powerful or authoritative person in a group
on the flip side: the opposite, less positive, or less popular side of something
underperform: perform worse than expected
