With recent hand over of Singapore Primer’s from Lee SL and Lawrence Wong. I really felt ashamed when our past Primer particularly when the Pariah Kutty reluctantly to do his. Any way he had been punished in his own constituency by his own Majority’s Malays, worst still even lost his deposit. What a shame really. But he has got thick Kutty skin still trying to go round pretended nothing happened. 😡😤

The spill over is not from data center building … it is data center with AI computing service. This is why Madani Government keep stress on AI training …. Microsoft as well as 1st AI faculty setup in UTM. Then , with these strong AI working force and talents, a lot of start ups and giant software companies invest in Malaysia to develop next generation AI products. The AI computing could generate very high economy value… for instance , a shopping apps with good AI model could attract more sales revenue. The energy consumption is very little compare to the economy value generated. The key success factor is availability of AI talents. Furthermore, the energy shall be green … don’t need any subsidies … subsidies shall go into AI talents development. OKM shall do more research on the AI industry… I see Anwar and Rafizi has better understanding on this subjects … and the programs roll out so far is great .

Whatever programs pursued, at the end of the day, our products have to compete with the whole world and AI and related products are really at the very top. Of course, we import and re-export plenty of E&E products, meaning we really did not produce them, we just value-add the products. This item accounts for a high percentage of our trade. Simply jumping into AI may cost us plenty if we are not well prepared. Just look at our attempt at digitalization by the various agencies, total failures!

AI computing can do wonders in automobile industry, medical, cybersecurity, energy networking, banking, logistic, telco, even in retail businesses. But the thing with AI computing is that you can have all the tools available (ie :data centre ) and still not able to use it properly without proficient AI engineers. Hence the doubt is whether we can produce enough AI talents in the years to come, or end up having to rely on foreign talents

What I think is the best way n one and the only one way to enable Malaysia to evolve to a harmonious, progressive and prosperous nation is to propagate the ideology of Malaysians’ Malaysia, among the young voters who is the decisive force for PH to win the next general election. Definitely it is a very difficult task, nevertheless it must be undertaken by the PH government starting from this second.

25:39 - 34:23 [Here is my comment about the topic of our now-PM Lawerence Wong] As a Singaporean who watched Minister Lawrence Wong's swearing-in ceremony as SG (Singapore)'s 4th PM, here are; *in my personal opinion;* my *speculations/predictions* that might/might not happen throughout his tenure as PM: 1) Now that Minister Lawerence Wong has been sworn in as SG's 4th PM (Prime Minister), I speculate/predict he might call a General Election (GE) sometime in *Oct/Nov/Dec 2024* at the earliest, or in *Jan/Feb/March 2025 at the latest,* since such GE has to called by *November 2025.* And thus, him being sworn in as our 4th PM *will mean nothing* if he is unable; as a member of the ruling PAP (People's Action Party); to secure a *strong winning majority vote of confidence* from us Singaporeans. 2) Continuing from my first point, when such GE is called in that predicted/speculated timeframe, I believe that for Minister Lawerence Wong to be able to *push his mandate/vision for Singapore* post-Lee era (since it was clearly stated that for now, LHL [Lee Hsien Loong]'s children *has shown no interest in joining politics whatsoever, despite the murmurs and rumors),* he will have to listen and address the concerns that are currently in the minds of current generation Singaporeans (mostly in the youth/working population of SG ages *18-45,* and elderly groups age *55 and above),* some of which are as follows: 1 - Addressing *rising Inflation costs/cost of living* and ever-growing *wealth inequality* facing modern Singaporeans affluent and poor, particularly the *elderly and lower-middle income groups.* 2 - Limiting/further regulating the influx of foreign talent coming into SG for working opportunities by 5-10% [Sidenote: some Singaporeans I talked to said 20% and above, but I highly doubt it], introducing certain punishments [Jail Time, Deportation, etc.] for certain individuals who violate rules outside of their working duties (there have been unreported incidents of some foreign workers moonlighting certain jobs that are outside of their allowed work permit parameters), and provide SG companies (SMEs, MNCs, etc.) a workable framework that allow younger Singaporeans *irrespective of their educational backgrounds an easier barrier of entry* to enter and alleviate SG's current aging workforce (also factoring SG's upskilling schemes like SG SkillsFuture scheme, etc.) 3 - Post GE, from some Singaporeans' sentiment (I could be wrong on this part), *all ministerial salaries will have to be adjusted* (ie. reduced, unfortunately) to a satisfactory level seen by all Singaporeans, and a possible annual audit on Singapore's classified monetary reserves. *[Though I doubt it will happen, but who knows].* 4 - (My personal favourite) Strengthening *bilateral ties and addressing current and future geopolitical/economic issues* with our neighbours and allies (importantly *Malaysia and Indonesia),* ASEAN, the US, the EU and China, which are: (possible construction and completion of SG-KL HSR by 2035/2040, with hopes of expanding such HSR to Thailand and beyond by 2050 and beyond, [fulfilling a *not-so-secret* wish from Malaysia's current Yang-di Pertuan Agong; who is also SoJ [Sultan of Johor]; before his tenure as Agong ends on *30 Jan 2029],* global wealth inequality, climate change, the looming threat of war with *possible escalation* of Isreal-Gaza and Russia-Ukraine wars merging into a singular World War, etc.) If some of these concerns I mentioned (a term I would like to coin as liberal conservatism, pls educate me in the comments if I'm wrong) from the Singaporean public [myself included] *are not addressed* into workable policies, mandates and promises from PM Lawerence Wong and his future cabinet and senior ministers post-GE, then I predict/speculate the opposition parties will seize the opportunity to form a coalition opposition (albeit it will be a tall order from all opposition MPs) and be able to garner more seats in SG's parliament (from 10 seats to a possible *13-14 seats),* making the current PM *a harder time (or unable)* to push certain laws/amendments he wants to make to address such issues from Singaporeans. This is again just a speculation/prediction, so this might turn out to be wrong, but keeping it in mind, local/geopolitics can change in a slap of the finger. I think that much covers it for now. As a Singaporean, I wish Minster Lawerence Wong the best in a long and prosperous career as *SG's 4th PM.* Keep up the good work Mr Ong Kian Ming and Peter! -From a Singaporean viewer of the podcast.

If Malaysia want to launch an Orang Utan diplomacy campaign, it needs to start by gazetting in perpetuity large tract of forests in Sabah and Sarawak as Orang Utan reserve forests and develop a conservation program well-staffed with qualified and properly-paid veterinarian doctors that seriously studies the Orang Utan species, lifecycle, food source, and that allows their population to be perpetuated naturally. While we do have some Orang Utan centres in Sepilok etc., its large natural habitats are still being destroyed at an incredible rate as we speak. I hope this program will not be set up as a marketing campaign and then forgotten 1 year down the road. The panda conservation program in Chengdu is a serious undertaking and it has credibility as the panda population has increased in the wild and the bamboo forest area are well protected over the past many decades. If Malaysia want to be credible, we need to replicate the Chengdu program. Doing anything less will not do the program any justice.

On the orangutan diplomacy, i agree with Peter’s view like many that on a practical side, orangutans thrive in tropical countries and definitely not in colder EU climates. And I also agree with OKM’s view that suggestions like these should not be dismissed immediately, but refined further. My own two cents on these: Orangutans are critically endangered, like our malayan tiger. And considering we’re on the theme of pandas, why not compete with our own ‘panda’ the Malayan Tapir? (This is not throwing our tapir under the bus lol, but its a diff suggestion that may suit them, plus the heatwaves arent good in general for creatures like tapirs who are somewhat nocturnal & only go out in the sun a few hours a day). This would also boost tapirs as one of our national symbol in malaysia & highlights its importance to the spotlight as its an endangered species as compared to CE status of orangutan. And its good as its unique to SEA primarily in our country. We’d need some experts to weigh in on these with the govt (like every other issue) though. And im glad that OKM is active in giving practical & suggestions to the ministers acting as one channel from the public to the politicians, keep it up!

When LSL took over , Malaysian pm the has an attitude, dr M again gave problems when he became PM. You guys are wrong, Ong Yi Kang his image a hard not that approachable, in cabinet you need different characters to do different roles. Heng Swee Kiat was dropped because he doesn’t have long run as he is considering older and health issues. Lawrence need time to consolidate his team and his position, just like predecessors. The systems , SOP are in place, it take time to mature.

Don't agree 100% on the increase on Malay votes for PN. Increase of Malay votes in this by election was mainly due to PN's candidate being a Malay compare to Chinese candidate (Gerakan) in the last state election. If PH has put up Malay candidate it would have won higher % Malay votes...you guys analysis should be fair not compare those u like to see and ignore those u don't like... another example the Indian votes for PH increased by >10% but u guys says increased "a little bit"...but when Malay votes support for PN increased

On the Malaysia politic side. I think it is very concerning that a clear majority of young malay voters prefer PN/PAS over PH. Disclaimer: If PN is not so super racial and religious driven and more policy driven instead rooted with global and modern characteristics, I wouldn't mind if PN wins. If this trend continues into future GEs, and the young malay voters come out in drove, PN/PAS will take over the government, which will make the future of Malaysia very bleak. PH wins the recent KKB by-election mainly because the young malay voters didn't vote [all other factors being equal in terms of which votes going to which side], which to me is a passive win. We thought the younger crowd will save Malaysia by rejecting extreme politics when UNDI18 was proposed. Now looking back, it doesn't seem so and it appears that there may be an embedded conspiracy in the proposal in the first place because the proposer may have read the trend back then. The conspiracy is even more profound when you recall who championed the proposal.

You only look at Singapore politics from a superficial point of view and failed to understand the lack of independent institutions and democratic climate to ensure transparency and rule of law in the country. Any country with a regime using law for the people in power to have the right to say what is truth or false, can never be a country to be admired.
