Bersih is on the crossroad. It’s a balance between aspiration and reality . The ultimate outcome is that there should be no compromise on the vision and objective set before the public in the beginning of its movement

If all those trillions were not siphoned by PMs, politicians and individuals, Malaysians would have enjoyed many many cheap goods and utilities. What are the resources Malaysia do not have?

Pakatan Harapan parties must keep the promise (noun) and support fully and dedicatedly on Bersih's objectives which is synonymous in a way to 'reformasi'. Don't dull down Bersih. We worked so hard n tough without much recognition of the position of Bersih. Some from the unknown public even were not afraid even of water bombs sacrificed themselves much

Hope you had a good time in Queensland Dr Ong. I propose you look at the airport industry in the antipodes as an excellent case study for Malaysia to replicate. Interesting that you brought up expansion work for BNE. BNE is currently expanding their domestic terminal. Queensland is also serviced internationally by OOL, MCY, CNS and TSV. To ensure the infrastructure can take the burden, I think the way the manage passage load here is quite remarkable. The airport industry here is very polished. Coming to my point I really hope MAHB deal goes through, GIP has done a tremendous job with Sydney Airport and I believe they have the know how to transform all MAHB airport not just KLIA. Your friend on the other podcast is quite condescending of GIP and their business ventures. As a person who first ever flight was from KUL to SYD, I can attest that SYD has improved tremendously over the past 15 years. The Australian airport privatisation model is the way forward. Many many many studies out there for those interested to research. Currently, the central government is building Sydney second international airport.I guess the radio DJ will probably shut up then. IF this privatisation exercise does go ahead, it would be great if they can take onboard some young Malaysians to be a part of the growing process. As usual great pod guys keep up the good work.

Haven't studies been done which showed that there is no guarantee that privatizing public infrastructure will improve services although it is guaranteed that the charges borne by users will be increased?

The above explanation clearly shows that there isn't an organiser or monitoring body that is empowered to request or discipline those appointed but failed to deliver the expected results/performance! Dr. Ong speaks with facts backed by relevant references! Everyone/ ministry seems to be doing things in their own way which may not meet the country's primary objectives?

On the political topic regarding inter party political stand to work with each other, i think the younger generation of people is more open to it. I think we all can see those in the 60s are a bit hard to compromise, either due to race, religion and so on, while the younger generation is more mild, which will not supprise me that maybe 2 election from now, DAP n PAS can work together as the older generation have move on and new generation replace them.

Mahb, It's cross subsidising un profitable airports. The state governments should do this not federal governments. Foreign airlines not flying in because this is not a regional operational hub and neither is it a preferred holiday destination due to its religious restrictions on holiday makers.

Overall, strong performance by OKM. Mr Money can’t seem to match the contextual level that OKM is talking about. For some questions asked by OKM, MrM clearly missed the point of the questions. And his questions begged for more. Perhaps we should have a program that has a politically attuned host asking OKM more interesting questions.

Mr Money mentioned MAHB is making money is totally misleading … the loses during Covid still could NOT be covered. The key issue is how come Malaysian airports are not competitive compared to neighboring countries? We are losing passengers. I don’t think Mr Money understand how Private Equity work.

Why sell a portion of MAHB when the MYR is so depressed against the USD? It's akin to a cheap sale for Blackrock to grab our assets. And why Blackrock? Malaysians would easily have preferred other non-tainted entities from other regions. I am not convinced that this treacherous sale of MAHB is good for MY in the long run.

Why the need to sell to Blackrock? MAHB is listed and is the problem with the MD and his board of directors who could not perform? Can't they replace the MD? Has it to be a Bumiputra?

Do you know how Private equity work? Once they acquire a company, they will do whatever it takes to overturn the company and make it as profitable as possible to push up the company market value… then they will exit to harness the gains. Not every PE aquisition is successful … but one things for sure MAHB will become more competitive after this privatization. They are holding 30% of share only. 70% is still own by KWSP. Along the way , the KWSP members will also get the similar return if MAHB turn around well. Malaysia airports will also become more attractive in this region.

MHAB is another monopoly that charges way too much. Petrol Subsidy where local prices are lower than Saudi Arabia. Why Subsidy when you can tax and fund roads and other infrastructure. Hick Tan is a clever guy ex MIT and MBS from Harvard. Unfortunately, in Malaysia with quality education from overseas, you are discriminated and paid lower than MU. Corporate Malaysia is a hierarchical ladder based on time of service and not meritocracy. Not worth returning to Malaysia if you are smart, industrious and have access to capital. USA is the best option. Good Luck and do not forget your roots.
