5:10 This is what motivates me even more to be honest. When a job NEEDS to be done so a family has water again. My family used to live in a house where it was a yearly occurrence that a tree root would grow into my mainline and back up my whole house. Not being able to use water for 2 days, it was a godsend when the plumber finally showed up with his chopping tool lol

Great advice. I’ve been looking into a big career change and want to apprentice. My only concern is I am out of shape. But I am determined. How hard is it physically would you say?

Hey Dalton, I’ll be making a video about this at some point. But plumbing is one of those jobs that you eventually get fit at depending on what you’re doing. Sometimes plumbing isn’t too demanding, like doing regular service work. Other times you’re running up and down stairs, power washing etc. It’s totally normal to start off being unfit, but through work becoming fitter. So it ranges from being easy to hard depending on the work. Hope this helps.

Love your videos, been on the job for a month now after graduating at skilled Trades college of canada. Are you licensed yet? And would you take on an apprentice?

Hey Ian! Thanks for the support! Congrats on getting your foot in the door! I am licensed now, but unfortunate we are not in any position to take on anyone just yet. Keep up your hard work!

Thanks for your content! I’m 18 and still in HS but I’m considering the trades. I want to go into HVAC or become a plumber. I just got an application from the Union for an apprenticeship(5 yrs). If I was hired would I start right after HS? Also, if I wanted to have my own business that takes care of residential houses is the Union a good place to start? Thanks for the videos! Keep up the good work!

Hey D Adam, thanks for the support on the channel! Glad your liking the content. And yes you would start working after high school. Keep in mind that in order to get your license (at least here in Ontario Canada) you need a high school diploma. So there is great incentive to finish high school. Also, it depends on the union in the place you live. The union in Toronto does a lot of high rises where I am. So you’ll have to ask someone in your area.

In order to apprentice you need a licensed journeyperson plumber to hire you and sign you up as an apprentice.
