"Why do all of these require a screwdriver to access the batteries?" Apparently according to my wife (who collects Tamagotchis), there's some child safety law requiring electronics marketed to children to need a screwdriver to open so kids can't easily access them. This is why Tamagotchis sold in the USA have a different access for the battery compartment from those sold in Japan.

It got cancelled after a while, and came back a year or 2 ago, they had hired Scott to make stuff for the channel, but because they sucked at being fun and entertaining, the channel went down the drain.

@@HardBloodNelza Someone's already answered this question, but to add more: From what I heard the only good thing on there was Scott the Woz, and even then the episodes there seem to have been put onto Scott's Snippets (I think, don't quote me on that), which it isn't the best sign that the episodes on there were effectively just compilations. There's a commentary on the Funeral Scott did which mentions G4 a bit, the first episode of it was airing but *something* went wrong so it didn't air at the right time, which seems indicative of G4's quality. He didn't seem too invested in G4 in a concept.

Yes, I too have seen the video.

The thing I honestly love is the proprietary software in some of the plug and plays. Games that can never be emulated on a PC because no one skilled enough in interested in converting them or creating emulators, so many original plug and play games will be lost in time soon enough, it's a shame.

i had three plug and plays: the disney princesses one, the hannah montana one, and a littlest pet shop one. i think i also had a care bears one since i remember playing a care bears platformer, but that might be a false memory/it couldve been a console or flash game. the lps plug and play was always my favourite since you basically cared for a pet and played with it, kinda similar to games like webkinz (which i also enjoyed playing at the time). my friend would always ask to play with my disney princess plug and play because we were both addicted to the ariel game. i might dig my old plug and plays out just to see if the games hold up, because i remember spending hours playing on them

The censorship on air was really wonky, some fucks were left completely uncensored, some were the usual "u" part being censored, and some were the entire word being censored

@@Number_27 My theory is that since the producers can't use copyrighted material regardless, and Scott does use a good chunk of copyrighted material (as much as corporations don't seem to notice, as stuff like video game music goes under the radar for the most part), Scott had to send in a rough cut of the video with the sounds and music removed so the producers could put in copyright free sound effects, music, and fully censor the words instead of how Scott only censors the hardest part of the word so it sounds like f ck and sh t. The editor here, however, didn't do a great job putting in the censors, so therefore now that part of the video has the actual words, which was a problem that didn't exist previously. I didn't see the entire premiere, but from what I can tell this episode is the only one that's like this.

Please don’t ever stop saying “hey all Scott here” like how Austin Evans stopped saying “hey guys this is Austin”

This was the G4 debut of Scott The Woz for a reason, I love this episode

I remember when I was a little kid having a Lord of the Rings plug-and-play with a motion sensor sword. I always thought I just imagined I actually had it but now I realise these things actually existed.... 😯

I was eating breakfast watching this video. When he said “assrat” i involuntarily spit my cereal all over the table. Just too funny.

Plug and play games were really cool to play. I remember playing these plug and play consoles at a young age, like the Spongebob plug and play, Blues Room plug and play, and Thomas and Friends plug and play. So nostalgic, and so much fun

This was the first Scott the Woz episode to air on G4TV

Not gonna lie, this is probably the best Scott intro of all time

I had that same damn spongebob plug and play. I don't know how I didnt expect to see it in this video, but the wave of nostalgia I felt upon seeing it was great.

That MAPPY music REALLY brought me back. I remember figuring out the exact pattern needed for levels 1-6. Now I never got past level 13, but I played this game FAR more than I'd like to admit

game theory: scott in skits is an alternate timeline scott that only makes shitty jokes. main timeline scott is the one who actually talks about games. this explains their different tones and delivery.

I actually had that tetris plug and play growing up. loved that thing. however when playing 2 player with my older brother, he would unplug my controller and i would be unable to move the blocks. neat feature
