Asked him about that when I met him at MI back in 2016. He said it was just a throw away kind of idea he made on a whim. I don’t think he’s really been in that creative space for electronic music since then. I would love more of that too!

Two of my greatest inspirations. And I, as a Brazilian guitarist, feel incredibly proud of Kiko. Thank you for this musical gift.

Yes he left the band. He made the decision to as he wants freedom. I like many as glad he’s left. Megadeth limited hun as a guitarist. He had way more freedom in Angra and is missed with this superior band. Angra gave him freedom Megadeth was a spot to play covers. Kiko got his additional fame and it’s best to leave on a high.

@@candrelsrosaTrue temperament and microtonal is not the same. True temperament just means that every note on every fret on every string is in perfect pitch. Normal fretted guitars are not 100% perfectly intonated, which a true temperament guitar is. Microtonal means it has different intervals, as for instance instruments from middle eastern or arabic cultures. Some of these have "inbetween" notes compared to traditional European instruments, which gives it their characteristic sound. On stringed instruments like a guitar you can of course bend the notes to the exact inbetween microtone if it doesn't have the corresponding frets.

I remember running across Angra years ago...long before most people had ever heard of Angra in the US...or Kiko for that matter. I always thought they were great and that people would like Kikos playing a lot if he ever got to get to the ears of the masses. Fast forward almost 20 years and here we are!

This kind of music has saved me so many times in my life. Thank you Plini 😢❤🎉

⁠@@paulgilbert3139Not to attempt to answer for them, but to answer from the general perspective of a fan trying to understand how a particular professional works within their field (without meeting them), we only have second-hand info to go on… I mean, we can see particular interviews and stuff like that firsthand and make a sound judgment on what is said in them, but we are not able to pose any new questions there in real time, so there is a definite secondary aspect of the whole picture. A lot of interviews and such involve being corralled into a topic by the interviewer. For better or worse. I am a person who leans toward the idea of Dave Mustaine being an asshole, but I have never met him, so I would not go around spouting off that idea as matter-of-fact, but more a vibe that I got based on some stuff that I saw in the media that I cannot even recall at this moment…. I am not a knowledgable Megadeth fan, but I absolutely love cryptic writings. I think I’m gonna go listen to some vortex like immediately.

Wow Plini, you and your guests did it again because I absolutely loved Selenium Forest and Still Life so I can't wait for the documentary :) I could hear some Opeth inspiration and some AAL and PERIPHERY/Bulb yet I love how you synthesize those sounds contextualize the atmospheres to create your own and in turn Plini sounds otherworldly (you use minimal yet specific and synergizing vibes like if Allan Holdsworth and Jeff Loomis; sort of. Also the dynamics, wow man. this may be one if not my favorite song ever!
