Dear Ladybug, you missed the point again. God bless, but it may be helpful to learn what the Catholic Church actually teaches first. Nobody here said you can repent after you die. That is not what that is about at all. God bless.

Fr. Chris, thank you so much for what you do. You know, your videos about Confession, 10 Comandments, and 7 deadly sins were the reasons why I was able to finally find the courage to go to my first Confession months ago after being an angry lapsed Catholic for so long. Yes, I'd been so mad at God after experiencing some traumatic experiences in the past when I was a kid. And your many other videos have helped me understand things I didn't. So who cares if the gospel is preached as the Lord instructed ? as here you are praying for the release of souls in a place that does not exist . If you read the scriptures you will find that no one is ever taught to pray for the dead, or pray to the dead. There is all through scripture examples of who to pray to and how ,and not once do you find it to be anyone other than God. John 14:6

@@liberatewethepeople9121You truly are, praise the Lord. You are the prodigal son. There is a holy bloodline lineage through Christ and the Church. This is through the covenant of Christ, all who are Catholic, are adopted into this family. You just helped me to realize this more wholesomely. My father's mother and father were Catholic, so my father and his siblings were raised so, but he is not and I was not until just this past August I was baptized into a protestant church, and 3 weeks ago He led me into the Catholic Church, when only just before I literally thought it was evil. Praise the Lord. Now I am realizing it is not only by the grace of God's hand on me, but it by the grace of God's hand on my grandparents, as to why the priest told me I am the prodigal daughter, and I am starting my RCIA classes soon. Indulgences do get such a bad reputations these days. I remember my history classes boiling the issue down to “The Church sold indulgences, that was wrong, so Luther was justified in ‘reforming’ the Church” without any other clarification or context of the practice or its history. Man, I wish teenage me knew half the stuff that present me knows now. The idea of indulgences easing the consequence of sin makes a lot of sense if one believes in Purgatory. Purgatory really is God’s gift to us when we die. Since nothing unclean can enter Heaven, he could just lock the gates in our faces and permit only the best of the best inside. It’s what we deserve, but he doesn’t. He lets us detach ourselves from the things we still hold to and prepare ourselves for eternity with him. The fact he’s given Jesus’s Church authority to let living members heal their wounds while still on earth and help those in Purgatory is a strong sign of his love for us. I have quite a few scars on my body (mainly from stupid things like messing with a stapler), and probably would jump at the chance to erase those marks of my mistakes (though I have some on my knees with a good story). How much better the chance to ease those on my soul so I can join God much sooner, along with helping someone else enter into Heaven. Honestly, the idea of having so many chances to prepare my soul for Heaven and not facing those challenges on my own is so encouraging. Too often I hear non-Catholics say stuff like “you guys always feel you aren’t guaranteed to go to Heaven, so obviously you don’t love God and Jesus that much!”, when they seem to forget we are not owed Heaven at all. God can hold us to every little sin we’ve ever committed and not let us enter his Kingdom. Instead, he offers us forgiveness and mercy, and shows us we don’t have to face everything alone. We can help each other reach Heaven, which is much more comforting than “it’s you, only you, and no one else but God can help you.” Anywho, thanks for the talk Father Chris! Always great to learn something beautiful about the faith. Praying for you and the Marians, and the souls of my relatives and loved ones who have passes away 🙏 may God grant us mercy, and may all the saints in Heaven pray for us and those awaiting entrance into the kingdom.

Fr. Chris, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, time, guidance and encouragement to work on spiritual graces for our salvation, for the living and the dead. I love the idea of having to deposit my corporal and spiritual works of mercy in my spiritual box in heaven. Everyday, I join two Masses celebration, one at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy by the MIC Fathers ( 9 AM, USA but 3 PM in Belgium), the other Mass is at 9 AM in Belgium. Because of the coming feast on All Souls Day, I offered a novena of Masses for all the Souls in Purgatory. I have reflected on their condition and felt a cry of help from them, I have to save them especially that they can’t do anything anymore to help themselves. Every little sacrifices, sufferings and mortification I can do, I offer them to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the whole world. If we are all God’s children, then they are my brothers and sisters loved by God the Father in heaven. We have to help each other. God bless us.

Thank you Father, I am a new follower of your “Explanation of Faith” series. I had forgotten all about Plenary Indulgences. I have been using the Association of Marian Helpers cards for many, many years, and visited the Shrine of Divine Mercy with my husband and parents about 20 years ago, but GOD brought me to your KZread site just three days ago 🙏🏻✝️🙏🏻

Thank you so much Father Chris for teaching us a lot about our faith. God bless you for working extra hours to prepare for this talks. I am so thankful. I have learned so much about my beloved church. I am so, so grateful I chose to be baptized Catholic when I was four years old. I grew up in a home where my mother took me to church she got baptized in a protestant church I think she was a teenager when that happened. My step father got baptized in a protestant church when he was an elderely man. i have always love my Catholic church and always felt that it is the true church.

Thank you Father Chris. For some time now, when praying, "May the souls of the faithful departed through the Mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen, " it came to me to add, esp most abandoned, those there because of my fault, those of my family and friends and those for whom I'm particularly obligated to pray for. I believe its because I am more aware of the needs of the Holy souls including , learning much from your videos. Also, I'm so blessed to now be, a Marian helper. God bless all Marian Fathers, Seminarians and helpers, Amen 🙏

What happens to those who do not believe that Jesus is the only way to our Father ? They believe in God but do not share the same faith as we do.

LOVE THIS EPISODE!!!!!! Might I make a small petition? Father Chris, could you start all of the videos with a prayer which includes a petition for indulgences and help us learn to practice in everything we do? Especially for those who have memory issues, doing it with us each video may reinforce the practice so that asking for indulgences becomes as natural as saying our memorized prayers like the Our Father. By reinforcing this necessary part of our faith, it may help the negative reputation indulgences has had in the past. Could this too be why so few people know about or use indulgences such as asking for indulgences has not been taught by example? Be our example before each of your talks! Thank you so much for all that you do!
