It actually makes sense in some scenarios, for example on my level of 1000-1100 if i win a free queen i will be happy to sac mine for a rook even, just so that i don't lose it and still keep an advantage

The Tesseract, Cube, or The All-Spark are a couple names I can think of off the top of my head. The goal of the opening is to make a central mass of pawns so something around that seems fitting.

This opening is called “mad cow disease” it doesn’t seem like much until the prions/pawns build up and suddenly it’s fatal.

Name it the SPACE INVADER opening. It looks like the creature from the old Space Invader games, and it just marches up the board mercilessly.

You could call it the "Bovine Blockade Gambit" or "Cubic Cowpoke Gambit"

this video is a great demonstration of eric's fantastic (time-pressured) endgame play - his opponents have winning positions, but they can't convert fast enough with how resourceful he is!

This was such a fascinating stream… The ability for Eric to just sacrifice so much material intentionally and utilize the pawn structure and open files for his rooks and queen felt like there’s so much potential there in speed chess 😂

Me playing chess: I wonder if there’s any way not to loose material. Me watching eric: I wonder how he’s gonna get rid of his knights…

Haha! I had the same thought in multiple games! I was so disappointed when he kept them.

The shape of the pawns at 2:14 kind of looks like a pixelated spaceship. With that plus the numerical disparity, maybe something like the Galaga Opening, or the (Central) Space Invader?

The 'Creature' as Eric himself calls it certainly teaches you how to push pawns.

the minor cow gambit in the rosen variation were you instead of the queen you sac 3 minor pieces.

I would give it the name, "Mad Cow Disease: Poison hoofs variation" because that pawn cube in the center looks like hoofs idk

Why not develop the knights in front of the pawns, for example c3 then e4 and hope the opponent trades their f6 knight and you can then move a pawn to the center with fxe4
