I’m a demo collector myself, and you sure covered some of the winners. You def need to add the RE2 demo into there, and some of the ‘Essential PlayStation Magazine’ discs as there are solid also. Great vid!

Yeah I really do need the RE2 demo as it’s one of my favourite games not just on the PS1 but in general, always looking to add more demos so I’ll keep an eye out for the essential PlayStation magazine disks

I'm a PS1 Nut and love this video, my favorites from my childhood was the one that had spyro with the level where you get to skateboard, played that endlessly, also one that had cool boarder 3! Hours and hours with that. My very favorite though was the Syphon Filter one you held up, pretty sure it had a bloody roar demo also!?

This was my childhood lol, sitting on a friend’s sofa reading the magazine while he played the demo and visa versa was bliss! Yeah Syphon Filter demo was great, I loved using the taser in that game lol

Thanks mate! I do love a good PlayStation shirt haha. Yeah same for me they nearly hold as much nostalgia as the PS1 demos as that’s how I discovered on a new console, some of my new favourite games of all time

Yeah I think easily 50% of the games I played on PS1 I only played the demo and it’s so many of these games which I have added to my collection all these years later

@@DanTheGamesMan Yeah they’re in cardboard sleeves so it makes it a little bit harder to find them in decent condition, they can get beat up pretty easy. Haven’t come across any while I’ve been out hunting but picked up my first one for cheap in a sealed Xbox 360 magazine from eBay not long ago

This was how I picked up two of my favourite games years ago on the PS1. The first game was Armored Core and the other was Ghost in the Shell. I bought them both years ago thankfully as they are both pricey games now. I remembered the memories that both those demo discs gave me and I had to buy them. Ghost in the shell, I found in a small store years ago for a fiver 😂 Super underrated game.

This is the only way I ever played Ghost in the Shell and was also one of my first experiences or anime as such, just goes to show what an impact these demos had. Good work picking that game up for that price I wish I had, getting very expensive now!

Demos were great back in the day. I grew up in a low income household so wasn’t able to buy games all the time so demos were a great source of new games! Luckily we got our ps1 chipped and I could get more games 😂

Same mate and it was great to be able to play so many games for cheap like you said, and some of the demos length where very generous! The old chipped PS1, there was always someone who knew how to get one chipped and someone on the market selling copied disks on the cheap lol, whatever it took to play the game!

I've been collecting PSW DVDs with WWF/E trailers on them over the last couple of years. Including the trailer for Here comes the Pain with Jeff Hardy on it.

I bet there’s some crazy trailers out there, I remember the smackdown games always having AMAZING trailers!

Talking of footy games on ps1 loads ppl ragged on it but i loved it couch co-op with mates mainly, three lions. The opening cunematic and song pure nostalgia. When i bought my ps1 out mams catalogue i got demo1 porche chalkenge and tekkn.

The PS1 was a golden age for football games and honestly that was the last time I probably played one lol, so many iconic sports games that era! I think that is the most iconic PS1 bundle, and what a bundle it was!

I have a few PS2 & PS1 Demos at home.Should look into getting some more PS2 & PS1 Demos.

A golden age of gaming for sure!

A lot of good memories with the Official UK PS2 magazine and their demo discs. The menus, the music, the demos of course. I was able to collect a complete archive of every issue in PDF form as well as the PS1 issues (slightly before my time but very cool to have). Obviously can't compare to having physical copies but still nice to scroll through here and there, some of those issues are hard to get a hold of so it'll do me fine. RPM is worth a look for anyone who likes retro gaming magazines and PS consoles in particular. They just smashed their funding on Kickstarter for issue 3 and you can even go back and get the earlier issues too.

So many good memories! It really was a changing point for gaming in general and brining it to the mainstream. That’s amazing though having a full PDF of the magazines as they’re hard to find and even if you did find them all, hard to store and that’s a great way to preserve them! Awesome I’ll have to go check it out and there’s a real lack of physical gaming magazines there’s days sadly

Tbf, demos are becoming a way more regular occurrence again now. Just in the last few weeks I played Stellar Blade and Sandland demos, FF16 & Rebirth both got demos too, Unicorn Overlord got a big one and there's more that I'm definitely forgetting about! Glad it's happening again 🤘🏻

This is a good step and honestly I think it’ll improve people’s confidence in new games, and may also lead to more people pre ordering games if they can play them and know they’re good quality

The Sandland demo was pretty bad in terms of it's structure (no missions etc just threw you into the open world with nothing to really do) but I enjoyed the combat and art style enough to now be interested. Stellar Blade too, it was one of my anticipated games of the year and then previews said the combat was more Sekiro/Souls Like than people thought so I'll be giving that a go to see if I still want to play it as that isn't usually my jam. We definitely need more!

Dan demo disc was brilliant idea thats why I bought 150 games all in black label but I was fussy I had driver for 3 days just did not enjoy. Even now on Xbox Series X I read the reviews on the games before I buy.
