I'm a serious scale model builder, I saw one of these and couldn't resist, I detailed up the interior, chromed up some of the grey plastic, rusted and weathered it up, ILOVE it, it's fantastic.

Man playmobil is killing it with these sets. Now wish someone did some normal figs at about same scale as the playmobil figs in the Ghostbusters world. See if can fit in Ecto. Love that Ghostbusters siren.

Ordered an Ecto 1A for my collection today. Looking forward to finally having it in hand as it was really difficult for me to find locally. I attended Ghostbusters Fan Fest in L.A. last weekend and it was a blast. Playmobil had a tent at the Sony Pictures lot where they were selling a lot of the Ghostbusters product line. It was nice to see that the older toys in this series are still popular with fans both old and new.

The phone bit is awesome! 😆 I would play with that for hours.

I've got this coming on Wednesday and soooooo cannot wait to get it. I have received the ecto 1 a and absolutely awesome indeed the lights and sound are what sets the model off. So I have bought the first ecto 1 has well which I have received today, and absolutely love it those blue lights are really bright, but now I have both ectos plus my jade ecto 1 diecast model.

On the playmobil website all Ghostbusters sets are thirty-five percent off this weekend for the first Movie's anniversary! Watched this video, then batted my eyelashes at my wife till she let me order the Ecto-1A n_nU

Omg you found this in Mexico as well??? I JUST found it at a Sears AND Liverpool while I was on vacation. The crazy thing is you can’t find one of these for less that $250. I was negotiating for $200 and said let me think about it, took my vacation, I always check for Ghostbusters toys. It was at Plaza de Americas. And in Sears out of all. Got to pay retial! ($75)

Playmobile have been pretty amazing with this line of Ghostbuster toys. I'd say this Ecto 1 is probably the best toy version of the car since the original Kenner Ecto back in the 80's

The Kenner one kind of sucked. No lights or sounds, it only seated 2 Ghostbusters inside (and one on the top for some reason), there were no rear doors, and the back was wasted space because of that stupid claw. Even as a kid I felt it could’ve been better.

Just curious, what scales are the Ecto-1 and 1A. From what I can tell from the size they appear to be in your hands is they look to mimic the 1/18 scale. Is there anything that officially confirms the scale?

I would love to see that ghostbusters 2 deleted scene that's got eugene levy in it. I had a video tape of gb2, and on the back of the box was a picture of the ecto 1a, with eugene standing next to it. It was pretty obvious it was him.

I got the car the lamest part of the car is the side advertising signs I wish they had made it so it was dark transparent with a small led behind to at light it up , atm it's unreadable unless in bright light and moving the model

Does Ecto 1 A fit into the firestation ?

So a ecto-1a cool

The Ecto sets are incredibly good, for both display and play. But there is one thing they put on both that bothers me more than it should. When you look at the very bottom of the front bumper, they added 3 of those light things and it should only be 2 on each side. Is it reall y that hard for them to make a screen accurate toy?

Fantastic set, but why don't they release s ghost trap with that feature built in? Just a trap with small LCD screen, preset ghosts and transparent pyramid reflector. I bet it would sell completely out. 😉

It would be good to see an original ecto 1b as the ghostbusters video game gets remastered

God, I love Playmobil in general, but this Ghostbusters stuff is just even better than usual. I hope they keep this going for a long time and really go nuts with it. Extreme Ghostbusters, IDW Ghostbusters, crazy monsters... Hopefully the upcoming Ghostbusters 3 and the hypothetical Ghostbusters prequel movie+series keep this going for a long loooong time. Man, we still need Gozer and Vigo.

Playmobil's official US site has it for sale as does Amazon, Wal Mart and a few other store chains. Online is your best bet, since I could hardly find one of these at a brick and mortar store near me.
