I really like how it wasn’t a one crank start, any old car that has been sitting for that long without maintenance would never start on the first try and a lot of people don’t realize that.

@@seanthornton4382 Ecto-1 was already having issues in Ghostbusters 2, that was only 5 years after they filmed the original movie. None of those seen were SFX, the car literally broke down on the Brooklyn Bridge because they'd left it in Sony's backlot to rot. If those issues had held up, Ecto-1 should've had even worse issues running by the time Afterlife rolled around.

My grandpa had a '56 BelAir convertable that he put a small journal 327 into. A little splash of gas in the carberator and it fired up on the first try every time, even after sitting for years at a time.

"Come on, darling." I like how much he's determined to get the Ecto-1 working.

I mean it makes sense, Trevor’s a gear head and here right in his grandpa’s garage is a retrofitted vintage Cadillac ambulance from the 50’s, any gear head would be hyped to get that thing working

Ghostbusters afterlife Hearse elmo 1 was the first jump in the movie.

0:33 I know it's probably supposed to be the ghost of Egon helping, but in my heart Ecto-1 is alive and this is her crawling back from the dead. (It would also explain how her suspension didn't go out and total the entire car with that jump)

Good to know Egon got to spend time with both his grandkids.

I remember almost bursting into tears watching the trailer when Ecto was skidding through the fields with the siren on. I know now the siren was edited in for the trailer but I was so happy lol

I was so lucky to go see this movie when it came out, oh this reminds me of how I never got to see the 80’s but it has the feeling modern movies don’t have, the heart of it.. I wish more movies were like this, as one of my favorites

It was 100% Egon bonding with Trevor. With Callie it was super easy because she’s just like him, but Trevor’s really different. So seeing him take interest in mechanics and engineering like that with the Ecto-1 was Egon’s chance to say “If you can help me fix her up, she’s all yours”

The environments in this movie were so gorgeous! Also 1:38 "you have a friend?" Lmao!

It’s so cool that they brought The guy who plays mike in stranger things to Ghostbusters

You have no idea how much money I’d give just to go for a joyride in the Ecto-1. Just imagine how f**king awesome that would be, to live your life knowing that you got to go off-roading in one of, in not, the most iconic vehicle in movie history.🤩🤩🤩😎😎😎

I literally felt the feels seeing the Ecto-1 on the IMAX screen.

While I know it was Egon helping but part of me believes it was the Ecto herself, not because of some supernatural ability it had, but just an old beloved car deciding to help someone that showed it some TLC.

@@tord6725 Trevor was also like Venkman in that he’s the one trying to be a ladies man, although unlike Peter it seems Trevor seriously sucks as it as he goes for somebody too old for him, not interested and isn’t confident enough to even really make a move. Whilst Peter did everything to prove himself to Dana and waits until he’s a big deal and proven he’s serious about his job, Trevor just builds his entire attempt at flirtation on a lie (a really bad one at that) and is constantly awkward and keeps falling for Lucky’s pranks

@@mrcritical6751 IMO, both Lucky and Trevor are a 'mashup' between Venkman and Winston.

I think this movie didn’t get what it deserved. Of course , fans loved it ,but in my opinion , it could get MUCH more love. I think it’s because most people were hyped about spider man : no way home.

Driving the Ecto-1 is so much fun!

@@baotrannguyenngoc9964 When it made its introduction in the original 1984 movie, it had its stock ambulance equipment, namely the siren, stretcher rack and window curtains. Miller Meteor.

The car in the movie was retrofitted with a Chevrolet "LS" small block V8. That is why in the scenes the car goes like stink, despite weighting a lot.

What's funny is that the starter noise on this is 1:1 accurate on the 58-59 model Cadillac's. (obviously they had to record a starter sound since the engine used in the movie is a lot different then the original engines). However it is a super nice touch that they didn't just go with a standard sound library starter sound and stayed authentic.

1:12 They paid homage to the General Lee.

Try and imagine that scene with every other TV/Movie car from the 70s and 80s

Or how about the Batmobile from the 1966 batman series, say what you want about the TV show, but I think that car is AWESOME. Same can be said for the 1993 Jurassic Park jeep. Edit: you can also though Herbie & The Gen 11 in there as well for that matter.

Ahhh nothing sounds better than an old classic car cranking and starting up. The roar of my 1984 J10 Jeep Truck is the most satisfying thing to me 😂

Love Trevor is smart in his own way. He may not be on par with with grandfather or sister, but he is an engineer at heart.

0:34 It killed me how they photoshopped a generic inline 6 for the engine bay shots….to a cat guy it’s so obviously faked it’s not even funny. But they also pulled the original Cadillac V8 out and put a modern LS engine in all the movie cars so I guess that’s why they couldn’t take any real shots under the hood.
