Playing The Most Annoying Team in The Butcher's Circus

Ойындар

When the troll will not stop pulling,
and the hound will not stop dodging,
and the freak will not stop stunning,
and the old man will not stop yelling,
you will know only then that this is no mere Kalashnikov.

    @@yipcup I play team gr, crus, MaA, occ. HM's stress is a small but on all team, but I think massive stress in 1 target does more value, cause u want kill 1 enemy as fast as possible, and take an advantage. Crus also has inspirational cry, which destroyed enemy's popular stress tactics

    @@Almutazz938 Grave Robber's application of stress honestly isn't my problem with her, though the value of party vs. single target stress varies (sometimes it's better to dunk on one high value target with Panic Darts, sometimes it's better to shred down the entire opposing team with Hound's Harry) My what leads me to considering GR weaker than HM relates to how adaptable she is in terms of defense. Flashing Daggers are funny, useful and make for unique games, but the utility they provide pales in comparison to Guard Dog (and no offense if you use it, but Toxin Trickery is usually a meme). Shadow Fade is highly exploitable whereas Lick Wounds was buffed to provide regen to continue healing the HM even if he gets stunned out, and his endgame unlock attack is Blackjack instead of Pick to the Face which is pretty huge. Grave Robber is a great character, a part of some of the best teams, but IMO Houndmaster is the no. 1 stress back-liner character

    I love a very similar setup but I use antiquarian instead of occultist to constantly stack regen/blight along with stress.

  • @yipcup

    @yipcup

    That's a fair way to play it, susceptible to ripostes and bully comps which take advantage of there only being one heal on each character max per round but good in general

    @@yipcup ikr? I got real good at picking who I wanted to have take the next turn. Having two stuns available also helps a lot. I also run Man At Arms with his daze ability for even more control as well as some shuffle protection. Though I have more healing available with the abomination self healing ability as well as the houndmaster. Couple that with the constant damage debuffing (and the antiquarian inevitably getting a virtue), as long as I don't lose more than one person before the enemy starts hitting afflicted I've won.

    @@yipcup would a team of 4 antiquarians be able to stack regen on each other constantly to the point they cannot be killed at all outside of heart attacks?

  • @yipcup

    @yipcup

    5 ай бұрын

    @@Lunaraia You cannot stack multiple character classes in the circus (which makes sense, three men-at-arms and one healer would be absolute hell) but even if you could that team would still be very easily shot down. Regeneration is powerful because it adds an extra healing action per round to characters which can't self-heal otherwise (or saves a self-healing character from having to do so). It's an incredibly powerful auxiliary source of healing, walling out otherwise unstoppable damage sources for what can sometimes be multiple rounds, but even healing each individual character for 48 HP each action would just end in focus fire picking them off one by one. tldr; The healing you propose would be overwhelming, but ultimately suffers from the same issue that I described where each character only heals once per round

    DEBATABLE... honestly debatable. But Kalashnikov definitely comes close, in all forms ranging from the spammy (most popular) to the specialized (this one)

  • @yipcup

    @yipcup

    5 ай бұрын

    This team is a modified version of the Kalashnikov stress team, which features the same four characters in the same formation but with different trinketing and overall a more stall-oriented game plan. Versus damage teams you largely want to be doing what's pictured here, releasing constant and consistent pressure while disrupting their ability to pick off your flimsy characters (the high dodge Houndmaster is particularly important for this). Versus stress teams you're going to be in a straightforward slugging match that you're equipped to win with everyone on your team capable of dishing out a ton of stress, just find a balance between self-sacrificial spam and losing too much tempo to trying to mitigate oncoming pressure. Overall I'd recommend the regular Kalashnikov instead if you're a new player as this variation is particularly reliant on some on high-level trinkets, but for that reason Kalashnikov is pretty unfriendly to new players on its own.

    No, there are no negative penalties for losing a Butcher's Circus match in a meta sense. Your campaign heroes are completely unaffected, and the only statistics which carry over between individual matches in the Circus is your Prestige XP you earn for playing.
