@@robertcooper4th259 Missed opportunity for a final level. We could've had three rooms where you have to fight Chef, Foreman, and finally King Pig. This game has basically killed any chance of a Angry Birds 3 since there's 0 resolution for the plot.

Right? It's a genuinely fun game and they introduced a lot of new things. The different maps, tons of different enemies, tons of different plants, and PVP. All of that is just so much fun. A big middle finger to EA for making PopCap putting all those microtransactions.

Honestly, PVZ 2 was really good when it first came out. The map was completely different back then, looking like an actual map rather than a straight line, there were loads more plants to unlock in the worlds (at least I think there was, it's been a long time), and the monetization was DRASTICALLY toned down to what it is today. Honestly, it's sad to see it go the way it did. And don't get me started on PVZ 3

earlier there were no costumes, no plant levels, etc. which made the game too hard for me, I remember getting frustrated from the Big Wave Beach map and deleting the game and then redownloading it like an year ago and easily clearing that map

@@Agent_Drax yes, at least they gave the game something that resembles a proper final boss that wasn’t reused fights with different plants, but they took it away along with the epic quests they added in 2016 so just play the version from 2016 then do the version from 2017 with the 60 expansion levels to finish the game.

i feel its worth mentioning that PvZ 2 has a budding modding scene! most of them are their own spin on "no more micro transactions, better progression" but theres even a few that add in 'new' plants (ones from the weird chinese version) its totally worth some research because it brings life into a game thats otherwise pretty devoid of joy after the first few worlds

The sequel covering sequels that we have all been sequeling for.

Much better than Jirard from The Completionist's shitty review of PvZ2, where he only used 2013 footage of the game showing that he didn't actually play it for his stupid Top 10 video, spread blatant misinformation that could be disproved with a minute Google search like buying plants would only allow access to plants for a limited time (which shows the amount of research he put into the video), and so, so much fucking more. It was awful, really really awful. Luckily, there were a lot of people calling Jirard out for his bullshit in the comment section, which I was very happy to see. Love myself some online PvZ2 defending, even if as of now currently the game isn't... particularly healthy (but then again there's always 2017 APKs and Reflourished mod which is practically the same thing). The same thing happened with Star Wars Battlefront 2 in the same video. I'm not a SWBF2 player myself, but people were calling him out for the same shit in the comments too. Misinformation, lack of research, not even playing the game, super fucking old and outdated footage. So the comment section was just a blend of PvZ and Battlefront fans upset at Jirard.

Also a side note that u should know: Pvz2 was NOT made by EA, it was made by popcap, and it was popcap's decision to make pvz2 free to play and add microtransactions. I dont like EA as much s the next guy, but they had no involvement in pvz2 besides publishing it

Hey DiamondBolt, I have a fun suggestion for a mobile game related video idea. Why not take a look at mobile games that are completely dead and inaccessible? As in games that used to run on servers that are no longer being operated? Maybe you could gather obscure footage from said games or even dev interviews. Some personal favorites that come to mind are old App Store games like Zombie Farm 2, Zombie Takeover, and Samurai Farm.

Fun Fact about PvZ2: About a year ago, the game's modding scene really started going crazy. One of the most popular PvZ2 mods right now is PvZ2: Reflourished. 1. It works as an addition to the original PvZ2, keeping the old levels together save for some small changes. 2. It rebalances the entire game. P2W is gone, and a lot of plants have gotten major rebalances to make the experience as fun with no monetary gain in the devs minds. Not that they could monetize it, that'd be super illegal. 3. Adds more content to every world, and adds two new ones. Super recommend checking those out.

How to make a Perfect Video Game Squeal: 1. Expand the Universe 2. Leave an impact on its Franchise 3. Continue/Expand the Story/Lore and introduce new Themes 4. Keeping the Characters Consistent to the time of event 5. Expand/Remake the Gameplay 6. Put More Content in than the Original 7. Enhance the Presentation 8. Be a Faithful to the original

PVZ 2 was amazing game when it first came out and loved it. But then it got worse with all the adds and micro transactions that came later and the level up system

Sorry man, but the microtransactions were always there. It certainly did get worse after Arena (“Battlez” at the time) and Penny’s Pursuit came out, but not for the reasons you mentioned lol.

I will say this about Angry Birds 2. Aside from the Star Wars games, Angry Birds 2 is I think the first non collab Angry Birds game that actually gave Red an ability like everyone else has

I remember when pvz2 was new and didn’t have Post level ads or leveling or like 80% of it‘s currencies, and then returning after a few years and being absolutely dumbfounded by what had happened.

I actually redownloaded Jetpack Joyride recently and I’m very glad that I did because it’s very nostalgic and entertaining.

I remember downloading Angry Birds 2 when it was in an 'early access, still in development' kind of state. It was referred to under the tentative title of 'Angry Birds: Under Pigstruction '

Kinda ruined it by using keyed animations and ditching the unique resource efficient art style.

I don't share the vitriolic hate everyone has for PvZ2 cause i actually played that one first as a kid since it was free, and even then i knew not to trust the shady tactics it was using, so most of it just faded into the back of mind

The worst part about PVZ 2 is that they only made the game full of microtransactions fairly recently. Originally they would release a new would for free and you could unlock new plants by simply PLAYING THE THE GAME. Also they madr all the plants need to be leveled up now instead of them just being normal strength so now you either grind or spend money to make the plant's usable since the onlu way to level them up is through seed packets from looyboxes

Jetpack Joyride 2 wasn't even slated to be an exclusive. The limited test version was available on Android and basically the complete version of the game. You can probably still find and download it.

It’s insane how mobile games unironically peaked in 2012. First game was made with joy, its sequel with pure greed.
