I bought a usb hub for $17 and it works great!

I saw this device at Best Buy. I didn’t really understand why someone needed it, but it seems like a dock that plugs directly into the wall for its power source.

I use mine to hookup to my TV while having the full 30W available, and since it’s an HDMI output along with a USB I use it to run my drone simulators

Multiplayer for other games its pretty neat when a family member comes over rog ally the best, 10x better then nintendo switch oled

​@@TechCritterhad an issue today its brand new got it yesterday. I put asus rog in sleep mode. And it was unresponsive when i woke it up. And it was just doing the log in. And yh nothing lol. Was stuck there with the loading just doing its animation is normal for the ally

Is it require for dock? Or just a stock charger for the dock that come with rog ally in the box?

When I plug it in nothing happens.

Do you need the rog cable for this? I forgot where i put the box and with my other cables all it does is charge when i plug in my laptop

Does it support 1080p 120hz with Freesync if the display supports it? Because I saw many posts for people saying that freesync isn't supported

Hi how about hdr gaming with the external monitor?? Any latency issues with wireless controllers

Can you use this when not plugged in? All I want is to be able to hookup my usb controller to it. Sucks that the Ally has no usb ports out of the box but needing to plug it in kills its purpose to me

Amazing video, I was wondering will this charger compatible with Windows laptop, especially Microsoft surface studio laptop 2 while charging. The laptop requires 65W of power for the fast charge

Actually yes, I think it will be compatible. It uses the same protocols and same connectors anyway.

The sad thing is i cant use wired mouse/keyborad😢

It only has a delay when you put projection to anything but second screen only

So i have a zenscreen, and rog official dock i plug ally to charger hdmi to portable monitor and it just turns monitor on and off

yea probably the portable monitor doesn't have enough power. You'll have to plug in another USB-C charger to the ZenScreen

Mate your tv is 30hz so u can get max 1/4 of the ally’s potential

Just buy an aftermarket one for 30-50 gives you way more stuff like more micro sd card slots , more usb3 ports , and even ethernet don't pay for that overpriced wall charger

The ROG Ally isn’t powerful enough to run anything at 4K@120Hz anyway. It doesn’t even run games at 4K 60Hz. HDMI 2.0 is all you need for 1080p 120Hz.

4K 30Hz? I prefer the original screen

Why does it work at 30hz? It should be 60hz right? They advertised the product as 4k60hz 1080p120hz. Can we change the HDMI resolution in a 4k tv to 1080p 120hz?
