It is my 8th day of playing, still trying to grasp the basics and make silver, but this is appreciated very much. Also your 'how to get better at pvp' is fantastic, not because I would care too much about weapons or skills right now, more the way you teach about the mentality and approach one needs to have while learning.

Thanks for video) Purge it's great, but first you need to learn to use it )) I use mage robe, with fire stuff, and purge is amazing in 1v1, specially against stalker jacket or vampirism of all kinds)

Thanks to your videos I've been inspired to give spears a try. I used the fame boost period to 460 the spear tree and started a zero to hero run with 1h spear. From an initial investment of a 4.0 exc set to start with, I'm now consistently reaching t6.3 after a couple of hours of farming and fighting (resetted 3 times because invisible 5.4 awakened bloodletters are magnetically attracted to my butt). Right now I'm in a 3 million set with 3 more millions banked for the next upgrade after an initial investment of less than 60k and have tripled my kill count. Thanks for your videos and I hope to learn more from your future content!

This is an insane guide 💯 I play on 1h arcane cuz i have less mobility i have to bait them to use their burst dmg so i can skillshot with w and try to create some space and brawl Spear is better cuz of mobility it has to disengage whereas i cant Cuz of u i will try spear now but will still try to make arcane compete with meta

Solid advice and high quality video, as always! As to your question: (which ability is the strongest) I think it also depends on what is meta right now. I often bring guardian helmet with me, simply because of how many battle axes/cursed staffs I encounter.

Purge is incredibly versatile imo especially helm of valor

Really like the break downs. I would say cleanse is the best in the hands of an experienced player and the worst in mine.

Cleanse is an interesting one. It can for sure be critical against some builds but so many situations in solo pvp where it will do almost nothing.

Sword's W feels oppressively strong. The skillshot is instant and 15m long, which is the same length as the spear's E, meaning that using E to buy space isn't an option. It also has good damage and lower cooldown. Combined with a purge to rob you of your boots or brawling kit and you are basically locked in melee range with them.

Swords ARE strong. But if you max range E and keep going in same direction, the W shouldn't ever reach you. As for locking you into a brawl - yeah that can definitely happen but it's still a choice what they purge. If they remove your inferno, you can cripple->E->boots and reset if you want. I know that it's better in theory because in practice the environment can get in your way but still - it's difficult for a sword to stick to a spear player like they do to many others in the mists.

Amazing video, I was wondering if you had any advice against the current grailseeker solo dagger combo it’s causing me and my duo alot of trouble even if we’re healer dps or dps dps. Any advice is greatly appreciated

It's a classic oneshot comp for duos. Like all oneshots, it's about the initial burst - if you can survive that you should have an almost free win most of the time. I think your best bet is using leather hood cleanse and potion of resistance. Cleanse also affects allies so one of you can remove the stun from the other. If you don't have the cleanse, then at least make sure your potion slot is empty and you have a resistance or gigantify potion ready in inventory and hope that you are fast enough to equip and use it. And make sure you don't panic against a oneshot - after their combo they are very weak so if you survive on 40% hp for example, I would usually try to fight back while they have cooldowns and not just run away.

Hey vic zane Im a carving sword player that uses fiend cowl+mistwalker jacket so what i usually do to fight my opponent i usually use my MistWalker to wait out their defense such as mercenary,inferno shield and i usually use my fiend cowl to purge either his second defense or his boots

Yeah, exactly! That's a cool thing that fiend cowl allows you to do - you have an answer for both the first and second inferno of your enemy. However, mistwalker lasts 3 sec less and has longer cooldown so if you fight against inferno it's generally a good idea to also swap to inferno I think (unless you need mistwalker to dodge their E).

i think you were talking about carving reflect spell at first which is very strong against cruse fire staff lol

Using it to counter your enemy's inferno is decent, especially for when you want to avoid too much brawling because you don't think you'd win it. Keep in mind though that the invis has 10 sec longer cooldown than inferno so if the fight lasts long enough for 2nd inferno, you'll be sad.

I think against newer to mid tier players purge is definitely a fight changing spell but when watching high skill players, they are so good at knowing how to bait a purge that it almost becomes a hinderance to the player with the purge. Another issue when using purge is that unless you are extremely disciplined, players tend to rely on their purge too much, which can be easily exploited by an experienced player (which essentially ties into my first point). Lastly your two main choices of purge (fiend cowl and helmet of valor) have a give and take in which one to pick. Helmet of valor is more versatile since it is a targeted aoe, which allows you to purge one of the most difficult things to counter, an undead cape, but it is a skill shot after all; you can and will miss it. Fiend cowl is more reliable as it is not a skill shot but auto targeted. This makes it much easier to use, but removes the ability to purge undead, which will make it less useful overall. In my opinion, undead cape is the single most OP item in the mists, as it will give an experienced player a near guaranteed escape and/or reset (especially if they have an invis pot).

Your analysis makes me curious to find more good examples. I completely understand what you mean about both purges having their own weakness and the fact that an experienced player playing around the purge or baiting it out. But if both players are strong, I feel like the ability to purge will almost always give a pretty big advantage. Although many other helmets will have a much lower cooldown at least. Undead cape is for sure one of the most used but often it seems not that difficult to play around.

@@VicZaneGaming I see where you are coming from with the undead, I suppose a skilled player also will know how to counter it. I guess this comes from my personal experience as for me, playing with or around a purge is more strait forward, while the undead requires precise timing that can be messed up by things like mobs, 3rd parties etc. Regardless, you’re videos are fantastic, I throughly enjoy them and hope you continue to make more content as it is some of the best educational Albion content out there! From my experience in fights that you have a chance to win , the cultist cowl is better for brawling than a purge if both players are experienced, if it's not a sweat lord I know how and when to bait his purge so that I can either win the fight or go away, the bigger problem in this game I'd say is when you combine the purge with mistwalker jacket and undead cape and you're sweating with 1600-1900IP, this way even if you're taken offguard you have high chances to escape and if you catch someone that also has purge with less IP he's pretty much dead.

Just to be clear I don't mean that the purge is a problem. I think the helmet options are actually quite well balanced with many decent options but I believe purge still clearly comes out on top due to the incredible versatility. Cultist cowl which you mentioned, to me feels very strong against specific enemies but almost useless against others.

@@VicZaneGaming I agree that on some enemies the cultist is useless and the purge has saved me a lot of silver many times but usually when when I get ganked ganked/jumped out of nowhere with no time to react by a sweatlord it's usually either blood letter, double bladed, carving which I get a chance to kill if I have the cultist on me, If I have purge I can run better but harder to brawl as you said in the video.

How to win higher ip next please

can u make a guide about how to fame farm because mists is kinda slow and im not sure if its logical to fame up to 100 in certain build then use combat fame or just spec up something that u want to directly

I agree with you, but I think boots might be almost as important, because mobility is such an important part of a fight. I also have a question, if purge is the most important spell, then why so some builds not use it?

Yeah boots are fundamental. I can imagine taking a Mist fight with an empty helmet slot but without boots it would probably be completely impossible. There's a couple reasons why not everybody uses a purge. First, the price corresponds to how strong it is. Secondly, helmet options are actually decently balanced in Albion and offers good variety. Purges are super strong but other helmets are by no means bad. One of the benefits of some other options is much lower cooldown. You will be able to use your merc hood or stalker hood many times in a fight. Also while everybody could get big value from a purge, some builds also get big value from other spells. For example fire staffs or crossbows benefit more from stacking defensive spells so they prefer those.

Yeah most likely. There's a good bit of muscle memory that a lot of people have to purge when they see enemy use boots, even when it's not really necessary.

It's called "Recording Mode" and you can bind a key for this in the settings. Getting used to it in the mists has helped me a lot, especially to survive difficult situations.

As you might guess from my videos, I think 1h spear is an incredibly fun solo PvP weapon. Next in line for me in terms of builds that are very strong and also have a high skill ceiling which makes them fun are carving sword and light crossbow.

I double checked it just now and it works for me. I'm not sure how to explain it but I had to select first English to enable subtitles and after that there was a new option called "Auto-translate" and there was Turkish as an option among all the other languages.
