What's the mod called that's giving you that different shield effect? Looks cool and a bit more transparent while still being clear of the boundaries.

Being a gunner main the thing I'd like to point out is you learn the most about the game's movement as a gunner more then any other class because you can't really ignore it like the other's. I'm generally faster moving around a cave the most player's that are not using scout. Hell I've beaten a driller to a drop pod before how easy the cave was to traverse. Lots of engineers I've seen could get away with so much more but they don't quite get there limits yet. Still finding plenty of people who don't know about using space bar in the terrain scanner

that's extremely true. Every time i see players... idk, being too dependent on movement tools i rember that i used to main gunner back in like 2018 and i always thought that was the main reason why i could see a lot more movement options and could consistently get like 2nd place on mining just coz i wasnt waiting for driller or scout to pick some shit right above my head

It really depends on _how_ you play the other classes, Engi is pretty good for learning how to specifically gauge jump distances and heights, on vertical maps I often build those pancake running courses that are often memed about. Also Engi is good for learning bug movement thanks to Repellent platforms -- optimizing the paths that _bugs_ take is quite tricky, as is learning how and where to erect instant cover from ranged bugs. Driller is really more about terrain manipulation and shaping than about movement, but that's why you play different classes in the first place.

My sister and I just introduced a greenbeard, and we told him to start gunner specifically for this reason. We introduced another new player earlier this year, and his first two classes were scout and driller... I think he had promoted before he realized you could mantle.

first thing i learned on the terrain scanner is the scroll wheel and the spacebar immediately after, just by reading it right under the ui. the fact that people never use this indispensable feature is mind boggling, i guarantee that the terrain scanner is the best traversal tool in every dwarf’s arsenal, everything can be substituted by mining the walls albeit slower.

I take NTP *because* it plays so well with my teammates. I don't see it as selfish at all, and I've never seen it played in a "selfish" way that you describe. I love when gunners use it. It makes playing Haz 5 a cake walk.

The problem that people complain about NTP is that it encourages boring playstyle. I'm sure the majority of player find more joy in interact and killing bugs which is what make this game so enjoyable with playing together.

0:26 I knew it was gonna be gunner… when I first played, got out of the tutorial mission, I was doing gunner in the forced tutorial… duh it forced, anyway when I got to the space rig my eyes completely ignored the character selection monitor and I kept walking… took me awhile even after noticing that monitor and other parts that let you switch,-to actually do it.

I only play scout as its the only class to allow you to move faster and easier and up higher,

Missed jetty boots at 14:32. Does it make sense to unlock them in solo? I am using the mod that replaces the annoying minigame with the hacking minigame and it's Verified.

Personally, why would youn not take them? They make things easier

i feel like using bosco kind of trivializes the differences between the classes. Gunner can be great for learning movement as other people have said and his kit definitely deals with things quickly, but if you had to take the time to get all those high hard to reach aquarqs it wouldve taken you forever. Ziplines are great, but enemies can easily hit you off of them, and it becomes pretty much impossible to do on 5x2 or 6x2, unless you use a shield on the wall. gunner's my favorite class but I wouldn't argue its mobility is on par per se

Bro can you play haz6 x2 with your team. Would be interesting to see your gameplay and commentary on it.

I wish Gunner could have a real movement tool. The zipline just sucks so much and it's not allowed to be good because you can use it to cheese combat. If they replaced it with something like a Man Cannon or let glypids climb on it or something to make it less of an empty slot in my equipment list. I've lost a mission before because all the nitra was too high up and I didn't notice until I'd already placed all of my ziplines to make a cave traversible. No other class is going to encounter that.

i love zipline tho, i think it's a cool tool precisely because it lets u cheese combat. (at times) An invaluable crutch for random pub games. I can agree it's def on the weaker side, but i wouldnt want it replaced. also the last segment is a skill issue, sorry

i like the zipline because, while it's bad for going up, where it excels is when you want to go down fast, or close the distance between two gaps that an engineer couldn't do also it's very handy for completely cheesing fall damage too! engi can do it too but it's not as guaranteed if the fall's too high

@@dinosaurkin5093it’s not, as someone who hated hipster long before getting it, and long after, it’s actually quite good. I had it forged but did not use it until after not rolling any good m1k overclocks for way too long. It’s actually incredibly fun, and very powerful dps wise. Sometimes the 3 shorting grunts aspect is a bit annoying, but focus shots and head/weak spots solve that easily. It’s definitely better than base m1k.

hellfire is pretty good tho lol i run it on my coilgun along with carpet bomber on the thunderhead and it's basically a really cool loadout for clearing out groups of enemies, planning to try out minelayer for the rocket system too 'cause it seems pretty funny

@@celestialowl8865 I’d say most overclocks are good/usable, it just depends on the player. Hipster is an overclocks which changes the play style of m1k a lot. People who like single hit don’t like it, people who prefer faster firing do.

So the point is gunner is indeed dogshit tier in speed with every single weapon/OC combo except neurotoxin ? It's just the overclock being good and not the class then lol

Favorite gunner loadout is minigun with the stable damage boost OC, Elephant Rounds magnum, cluster grenades. I put my sunglasses on and click bugs until they die.
