This makes me think of an old Half-Life mod where you’d play as a Headcrab and could jump from host to host. It was interesting.

Ever played the flood virulence?? There was infection in that too but you play as a combat form

Yes, yes it is. I wonder if it has something to do with the original title and thumbnail as it said Flood Spore, not Infection form as LateNightGaming pointed out in the comments in the original video.
