I appreciate this review/share. I do have the Platinums 3776 Burgundy SF and Laurel Green UEF. I’m trying to decide which nib size to order the blue Chartre color. Robert Oster inks are currently my favorites! I do have the RO Cafe Crema and Coffee Date. Let’s check back soon!

I've had that pen four about four years. Love it. It does write on the fine side of medium (representative of Japanese nibs). The fine nib on my Pelikan M600 writes like a broad in comparison to the 3776 Century.

Hi Garry, nice video. I would recommend you to try out colourverse Project series , ornament yellow fountain pen ink as well.

Thank you. I haven't used it too much yet but am liking the feel when I do use it. I like the feedback that the nib has.

By the way, I love this same paper. It was a little more expensive than what I as using; however, I was able to buy 10 booklets at an incredibly good discount. While I can scan any paper, I love the scan guides, and I now scan notes into an electronic file so I can keep the clutter down and more easily organize files. [I made a comment earlier about the PENBBS 268 Vac Filler, in which I denigrated vac fillers in general. I have had some problems similar to yours with the u268; however, I can only praise the Pilot Custom 823. I use it often and consider it to be an incredible writer. More relevant to the earlier comment, the technique of eliminating the air bubble works perfectly on the Pilot Custom 823; hence, the fill (after the second filling) reaches well over 2 ml. A well-engineered vac filler does work!

I really like the Oxford paper, but have only been able to find the B5 version in Australia. Once people can fly again I'll be getting a load brought over from the UK, where there's a bigger choice of book types, when family comes to visit.

👍. My main issue with this is the nib width, I wish I had gone for a larger nib.

Lovely pen! My experience with Colorverse Hubble Zoom is that it’s a bit dry, so if you run into any trouble try a different ink.

Thanks. I will keep an eye on that. I have noticed that the line is a lot thinner than my Pilot Custom Heritage 92, also in medium, so may be ink related.

That is a very creamy golden brown. I might have to pick up a sample!

It's a lovely ink. I had a struggle to get it as all the stockists were out of stock, as soon as one had it I jumped on the web to make sure I could get a bottle.

Hiya Garry, Thanks very much for a great video, so informative. May I ask, do you originate from Halifax? You're accent is very similar to a friend of mine who comes from there. From a new subscriber in Pennine Lancashire. David.

For some reason, your voice reminds me of Neil Buchanan from the 90s show Art Attack! Thanks though, Garry. Good review but a lot of it was out of focus for me that I kept checking my settings. Found it very distracting, unfortunately.

Wow, Art Attack - that brings back some memories. I noticed the focus issues after I had finished recording. Unfortunately, as it was a First Impressions video I did not think it would be right to re-record. To prevent this in the future I have added a couple of steps in my recording checklist - so hopefully it won't happen again.

@@GarryEves Aagh, ok. That's understandable, I can appreciate that. Thank you, Garry. And yes it really does bring back some memories! Ha, it's a compliment to your voice and conviction. Either way I am pleased to have discovered your channel.

Undecided between Platinum 3776 or pilot competition, like 74,92 etc. Any suggestions?

It's hard for me to suggest anything as I find pen choice is a very personal thing - what is nice for one may not be for another person. Are you able to go to a pen retailer or a pen club and try them out to see which better suits your needs, hands, writing style etc?

@@geslinam9703 Is there really a big difference? I like a bigger heavier pen that's smooth and screw cap.
