As a newbie to the plate carrier gig I appreciate the insight gents. I think my rig is mid tier, certainly not tip top of the line but it is going to protect me significantly more than a cheap set up. Cheers! #ARJunkie #2ARights #RepealNFA

One thing I never get is putting mags on front of your plate carrier just for simple fact that if for some reason you are moving between cover or a unexpected attack no cover or whatever may happen you take one shot to the chest your bullets are gone I always just carry them on my battle belt if I can’t get that job done with 60 round drum mag and four extra clip on my battle belt idk what to tell ya

Did I hear correctly that you two think side plates unnecessary? Due to the addl weight or something else? Where should the front and back plates be ride - how far below the throat in front and the placement on the back? Thanks, great vid and I appreciate the info.

what kind of plates and carrier do y'all recommend for a guy that uses a power wheelchair?

Hey Leo sorry, we only just saw your question today! Sam touched base with one of his industry colleagues who is also in a wheelchair, and he had some great feedback and suggestions, I'll put below: “The plate carrier itself shouldn't really be a factor that I can think of. I run a Velocity Scarab. As for plates, I'd HIGHLY recommend getting the thinnest plate possible for the rear plate, so it doesn't shove him further forward than necessary which is not a comfortable or natural feeling. Check out Velocity or Tesco. It's possible that since he's in a power chair that can tilt backward (assuming his can) and not in a fixed manual chair like myself that plate thickness won't affect him like it does me, because if he CAN tilt his chair seat backward a little then he could technically/maybe make up for the fact that a thick rear plate shoves his upper body forward.“

@@FirearmsDepot no worries about the delay. I think that your colleague is correct. my power chair does recline back and after trying on a plate carrier a friend has, I'm glad that it does.

A quality coated steel plate in a spall sleeve is just fine
