The repair turned out very well. For a smooth surface, you can use a hot air dryer. Heat carefully and the surface will smooth and shine again. This way you can also remove the other scratches.

Nicely done. If the plastic is ABS - & you have another piece of ABS (an old broken part). Grind it into powder then mix in some Acetone until the ABS has become a paste, you can use this to bond your broken parts together.

Zgadza sie mechanicy woleli by ludzie nie znali tej metody ale to tylko dlatego by nie musieli po kimś poprawiać.Były już przypadki że gość przychodził z podobnym gównem z prośbą skuteczną naprawę a na pytanie kto Panu to tak spaprał pada nieśmiała odpowiedz ze sam sobie bo w intenecie był taki filmik.Prawda jest taka dobrze zrobiony spaw jest mocniejszy niż oryginał nie potrzebuje żadnych metalowych wstawek osłabiających dany materiał

Nie jest aż tak źle, przynajmniej nie użyto sody i octu 😁 a tak na poważnie to do drobnych elementów nie przenoszących obciążeń i napraw kosmetycznych ta metoda jest wystarczająca. Mam na myśli zgrzewanie i "szycie", ta cyjanoakrylowo-grafitowa "szpachla" pewnie odspoi się po kilku cyklach zmian temperatur ale może się mylę.
Я с 1978-го на двух колесах езжу, и уже лет 30 так клею мотопластик. А механики мотоциклов не то, что не хотят, чтобы мы это знали! Они сами этого не знают.

I had to do a similar repair and had graphite on hand. Your pencil saved a trip to the store. I used steel wool instead of metal pins which I did not think of.

Забавно конечно, но проще купить паяльник для бамперов за 15 долларов и не мучаться, либо купить дихлорэтан и заклеить за 2 минуты, оставить до утра, будет видна только маленькая паутина, для закрепления намазать потом ещё раз и всё.... даже шкурить потом не придется по сути

8:43 OMG, you're sanding the inside part nobody sees. Hey, see the round little ejection pin mark to the right, left behind by the molding process in the factory? You might want to sand that out too, if you want the back side to totally look great!

Warning Cyanoacrylate Glue (super glue) when heated produces a vapour that will burn your eyes, Also they are now glues that come with fine granules of different shades so can be used for many colour plastics, overall a very informative video, the music was also fitting to the video.

I used the same plastic type to repair a burst radiator that was no longer in production. It was polyprop carbon fibre mix. Used the similar stalling then followed on with 22gauge copper mesh heat set not the plastic. .Benn working for a year so fsr.

Instead of Paper Clips for a source of the Steel Rods - a very good alternative are the Steel Handles from a Chinese Food "take out" Box. The Steel Handles are maliable enough to form into a strait rod. Yet when cut into small pieces, should be rigid enough for this and similar profects.
Teversing the standard soldering tip rather than building a new one is genious.

btw - If You still have Gaps, as the Damage was less than even. Use "super glue" on the Gaps. But remember to sprinkle it with Baking Soda while the Glue is still Wet. Then File or Sand the excess.

это мы интуитивно знаем-понимаем как надо, а иностранцам это показать надо. немецы на дороге открыл капот и получил штраф, так как не механик и ремонтировать не имеешь права, правильно надо вызвать эвакуатор до ремонта, а там тебе дольют например литор антифриза и всего делов.

Во первых полипропилен так никогда не сломается. Он его просто вырезал лобзиком и щели при заливке клея это подтверждают . Тем более это не простой полипропилен , а термостойкий. И проволоку надо брать не скрепочную, да ещё с полимерным покрытием. Он бы ещё взял проволоку от корта покрышек большегрузых автомобилей. Кстати это ему на заметку для следующего видео. Маразм не должен стоять на месте. Он должен крепчать.

For the love of God I would have bought 2 parts after knowing the process is so labour intensive.Still brilliant ingenuity.I do believe the motorcycle companies do want you to know how hard it is to repair it at home because you will be lining up to buy spare parts.

la poudre noir venant de la mine de crayon , c'est du graphite et pas du charbon de bois. Et tu le mélanges directement avec de la colle super Glue ( ou colle cyanoacrylique ). Mais tu peux aussi mélanger le graphite avec du bicarbonate de soude avant de coller avec ce mélange et de la colle super Glue. Et là, il y a une réaction chimique qui fait que tu peux à peu près tout coller ensemble ( bois, fer, plastique, etc. ). Voilà ... A plus.

Il vaut mieux tordre les tiges en fer, en forme de S, pour avoir une meilleure accroche; une meilleure tenue. La colle cyanoacrylate ne résiste pas longtemps à l'eau : il vaut mieux préparer de la colle époxy. Pour cela il faut rendre la surface rugueuse - c'est le contraire avec la colle cyanoacrylate, où cela doit être lisse. Avec des petits brins de fibres de verre ou de carbone dans la colle époxy c'est beaucoup plus solide encore. La fibre de carbone peut être achetée en tissus pour le tunning des automobiles. C'est un peu plus cher mais il en faut très très peu et c'est dix fois plus solide que l'acier.

When you finished get some metal cleaning liquid ‘Brasso’ and polish it up you will get rid of that dullness where you sanded! Tooth paste will also do!
