This man had a huge keloid hanging from his ear, but what about the largest mass hanging from a nose, ever? Check it out here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/q5dlzbaxktGroaQ.html
Most, not all, surgeries like this are considered cosmetic, and many insurances don't cover it. It prevents people from getting help because they can't afford it.

Shows like this give me such mixed feelings. So many of the patients are in the bad state they are in because they can't afford health care, and the show gives it to them for free/reduced costs. But how many people would want to televise their health concerns if they could afford it? Makes me very sad

It's so messed up honestly. I have a friend who has lipedema which is not curable but very semi-treatable. Basically she has mass amounts of fat that accumulates around the legs and arms etc. It cannot be lost be diet or exercise. The only way to partially treat it is liposuction. Which is deemed cosmetic. So trying to get this procedure covered is ridiculous. I have my health insurance license and tried really hard to help her change insurance until it was covered partially. The fact that something like this that would reduce her pain, spontaneous fainting, and mobility isn't covered until you complain is ridiculous.

It must be so gratifying for a doctor to change someone's life like that and make them happy again.
In my early twenties I developed a keloid on the back of one of my ear lobes. I didn't think much about it til it grew large enough to he seen from the front. It really affected my life in that I'd always try to hide it. Long story short, I did exactly what Dr. Young advised against; I wrapped a rubber band around it as tightly as I could, essentially cutting off the circulation. Within about a week it kinda turned black, shriveled up and eventually fell off. That was about 10 years ago and thankfully it hasn't come back. I obviously advise against this but I'm happy it worked for me.

I was wondering why people don't go to the doctor earlier... then I remembered that people have to pay a lot for it in America. In Germany, we have a free healthcare system so you pay for insurance but not that much and you are not afraid of high costs when you go to the doctor

@@YourLoveIsALiex3 People in America report absolutely wild inconsistent costs though, showing receipts where someone checks out and it's like $18,789. An ambulance ride costs something like $3,000 I think. This isn't going to be the same everywhere though and varies from hospital to hospital. The inconsistent price factor can cause great anxiety though, unlike with any other purchase they don't necessarily tell you the cost before treating you.

Him: it's shaped like pair Petty me: A "pair" of nuts. 😆
I have been around individuals who have medical challenges since I was about three years old. Some of these individuals were physical disabled and others had issues not so noticeable but it is still something that that persons had to deal with on a daily basis. One thing, I have noticed is that human beings as a whole had a tendency to poke fun of these people who had problems that was no fault of their own. While I was working at the university, I have seen people with many ailments such as disfigurements to their face, and I never asked what happened because it was none of my business, but then there were people that told me about their afflictions. My philosophy in dealing with these people, is to over look the disability and then you are dealing with a normal person. For example, when I was working at the University Bookstore, I noticed a deaf student come in and when I had to speak to him, I stopped what I was doing, went over and looked at him in the face so he could read my lips. I was able to have a normal conversation with him. When I was working, I noticed that people who were physical challenges gravitated to me. I think there were two reasons for this, I treated them as a normal person and I also was physically challenge. It never bothered me being physically challenged, the big problem that these individuals have to cope with is dealing with society. It is not unusual to be treated as if you are also mentally challenged and being denied promotions in the work place.

i used to have drop-shaped scar tissue on both earlobes bc i used them to get blood for glucose measurements and it hurt way too much on my fingers. was called "spock with inverted ears" in school which.. wasn't fun after a while. got surgery for it in my late 20s and now i appreciate much more what the doctors did to make my earlobes look the way the look.. which is that basically you can't tell there ever was an issue!

I've irradiated keloids for prevention. How effective is that?
I get keloids on my neck and only my neck. After being told for years nothing could be done I finally had my largest one injected with hydroquarterson to stop it growing and to reduce its redness (I looked like I had a love bite on my neck).
This is not a vanity surgery. It must be diagnosed and treated. Poor guy feeling worthless. He is not.
I had one of those "stick out" moles on my hip from birth. About 20 years ago i heard about the constriction method and tied fishing line around it. In 24 hours it swelled up and was a bit uncomfortable. After a couple of days it shrank and shriveled. After roughly 7 days it fell off. I can now barely see or feel where it was. Very glad I did it as it was in an awkward spot for rubbing when exercising.

I really expected better from this comment section. Not only doubling down on the jokes against this poor man but continually questioning judgementally why people don't get things removed, knowing how much medical care costs in America in the first place but also with several actually kind people -who are apparently ignored- reminding that insurance doesn't cover cosmetic procedures, and the fear the medical industry can instill in people.
