Even though I know this won’t be seen, thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr. Youn. As an animal rescuer it warms my heart to see senior dogs who normally wouldn’t be adopted, going to great people. I’ve had at least one senior dog come through my rescue who had an enlarged lung and wasn’t getting adopted. My family ended up taking her in as a sanctuary dog and we had her until she died.

@@acelovesdiyschristopher7023 No, marine stings pretty much share first aid techniques. The vinegar inactivates any nematocysts that may still have the potential to sting. Don't, try to brush any tentacles. Then use warm/hot water/compresses at the site. The higher temperature causes proteins in the venom to denature. Denatured proteins no longer function as they're supposed to.

Dr. Youn, for a long time, I've thought you were one of the nicest people on KZread. But I just learned about your love for rescue dogs today; it doesn't surprise me. I, too, love rescue animals. My latest rescue dog was a beautiful black greyhound who I renamed Grace. The name was perfect for her. She gave me so much love, comfort, joy and company. When I went to the greyhound rescue centre, I had already decided I'd rescue a black greyhound because they are called trashbags due to their colour and are seldom rehomed. Many black greyhounds don't even reach the rehoming centres and are heartlessly thrown out of moving vehicles on busy motorways. I join you in encouraging the adoption of rescue pets - nobody needs to buy a pet from a breeder or pet shop. Gemm.

First off, I had no idea he was from Michigan until reading the comments. I'm also from Michigan and after looking him up I just discovered his office is only 15-20 minutes from my house. Then secondly and more importantly I just learned how he feels about rescuing animals. That's my passion. I'm a vet tech and have been involved in animal rescue for over 20 years now. Watching him talk about his senior pups just warmed my heart! Thank you Dr. Youn.

I’m so glad to see I’m not the only dog person who adopts older dogs. I most recently adopted a 9 year old Boston Terrier and the vet told me she wouldn’t live more than a year, so I shouldn’t bother. That was 6 years ago, and she ended up being by far the best pup I’ve ever had. So sweet and loving, and never even so much as growled at my kids. In fact, she was perfectly content being their pillow most of the time. She passed away a few months ago, but her last 6 years definitely made up for the first 9 years where she was stuck in a cramped cat carrier and neglected most of her life. Thank you for spreading the adoption message, and for everyone else, don’t pass on an adoption just because they’ve got a few years on them. Older dogs need a good home, especially if the first half of their life was full of suffering.

So, please, don't take it personally and judge others for disliking some of Dr. Youn's videos when you don't know their reasoning behind it. Youn would like to have people like the videos he shows us, not like the video for himself. It's this way with ALL UPLOADERS' VIDEOS. So, no, people are NOT BITTER when disliking a video. @@marciturner4980 I don't think that's a valid reason. You could always opt to ignore the video, or not watch it at all. Plus, on this one, the video hasn't even premiered yet but it was already garnering dislikes? I think there's like an 80% chance those dislikes were intended. . Also, we don't need to 'take it personally' but what do you mean by "don't judge others for disliking... when you don't know the reasoning behind it"? What reasons? You just said it yourself that you dislike some videos when the uploader shares other people's videos. To put in perspective, in such a scenario, Dr. Youn would fall under the category of "other people." And people who disliked it were following another person (uploader who's sharing them) but not Dr. Youn's channel and so they'll naturally dislike videos not directly related to the channel they're subscribed to. . It's not personal, of course. But I think we can fairly judge. I mean, what else could be the reason for dislikes? 'Accidentally' the dislike button? Like, do people who even have KZread accounts not know how to un-dislike a video? They clearly hate it. And I always will have questions about people who hate on informative, interesting videos like this one.

She’s damn lucky to be alive and she’ll follow that routine for a solid 18 months. After that the routine eases a bit but it never truly goes away. Plus she’ll likely need more surgeries down the line, once the scars settle and they know what will improve and what won’t. Try looking up documentaries about burn wards. The girl with the feeding tube is doing really important work. My girlfriend suffers fromgastropoeresis and poor absorption and we don’t really know why. I personally suspect EDS because of other problems she has- hypermobility, tachycardia and low blood pressure, etc- but she currently has no official diagnosis due to her not having health insurance. She will probably need a feeding tube at some point in the future and she’s really dreading it because she’s already lost so much freedom and autonomy from being ill that losing the ability to eat and taste food is just another nail in the coffin. Chronic illness is awful, so for people who may have a new diagnosis that is scary, or who know they’ll need certain things in the future as their condition progresses, to see somebody being positive about their diagnosis and the treatment they have to go through can be really comforting.

Sounds similar to mine. I found an abandoned kitten in my front yard, I brought it in over night and was going to ask if anyone was missing their cat the next morning. I thought someone must have abandoned it (people around me said they had seen other cats that look similar). It was so small the shelter wouldn't have taken it. The others will roam throughout the neighborhood. I see one or two of them now and then, I'm not sure how many may have been taken to a shelter or taken in. And, have an adopted cat with medical problems

We rescued an abused 10 year old dog last christmas, just off a facebook post saying a dog was hiding in their doorstep through the massive Fabien storm. Has no front teeth (broken on purpose, like with a kick or runover by a car), had massive scars and fresh wounds on his neck (like a wire around his neck, probably chained his whole life) and a lot of healthy issues related with allergies (no fur, mange like skin, permanent ear infections, ears almost falling off from wounds). He is also almost blind (cataracts), we believe he is partially deaf as well. He weighed just under 15Kg, was skin and bones; two months later he was at 26Kg, almost 2Kg above his ideal (taking corticosteroids permanently). He didn't know how to sit. Not the command: he literally didn't sit. We think he didn't have enough chain to stand or sit, so he just laid down. We got him to sit at the first time we tried; we pushed his back into sitting while giving treats, he immediately started sitting everywhere after that! He also didn't know how to bark: he howled the first two nights, non stop, and then no sounds for months. The first time he barked at the door bell was a party! He heaves and barks now when I say my GFs name: "go fetch Leila", and he heaves, and growls, and barks and howls, all happy, looking for his owner. I'm the cat person of the family (the cat already belonged to my GF before we met, but he is my soulmate 🥰). My life would be easier without a dog, and I think I would be happier too if we had rescued another cat instead. But I know he is happy, my GF is happy, so I work everyday on behaviour with him (food obsessive and aggressive), and it is gratifying to save a life from abuse and sufferinf. I also like to train the cat into sitting, jumping and giving hi5. The dog is way easier 😂
