What a classic set! My oldman bought this set along with 8th army one back in Late 60s. The DAK dudes he gave for me and my bro to play our in childhood brings lots of memories these models gave for us. Good times, and fun stories to hear from our oldman how he ”played” with them when plastic was dirty cheap.

I have this set one of the best German airfix sets out there!

basic miniature painting yes the older sets seem to be a lot better!!

I got the originals from thd 70s thank the lord I didn't give them away. Had a wonderful childhood were WW2 dragged on and on and on. Without either side getting the upper hand

I,m back modeling after a 25-year gap. Amazed by all the new toolings out now. most of all I,m impressed with these infantry kits. They have come a long way since I was a kid. I remember when they were very sparse and they didn't,t release many. Often found myself buying cheap China copies to make up the shortfall. However, i,m really impressed with these new offerings and will definetly buy some. Great reviews by the way bud.

Not sure why think the tank might be a Tiger tank? Anyhow the FASTEST way of keeping the German Typ III and Typ IV tanks apart were the number of road wheels (not possible in the box art). The mark 3 had 6 roadwheels on each side, the mark 4 has slightly smaller 8 roadwheels on each side. There were difference in the hull and turret, the main difference were their main guns of course.

The original production of this set was better still. I am surprised you were not impressed by the Eighth Army set; I always thought it was splendid.

8:32 That SMG is NOT a MP40. That should be obvious to everyone. I myself am not exactly sure, to me it looks more like the Italian Beretta M38/42, the late war version of the popular M38 sub machinegun. If it's not the M38/42, it might be the German MP41 - the version of the MP40 without a pistol grip, but with a fixed wooden stock. I'm inclined to say it's supposed to look like the Italian gun. Both versions of the M38 were also popular with the Germans, and getting them supplied (or stealing them) from the Italians would have been no problem in the north African desert campaign.

I have knockoff versions of some of these , a lot of other poses didn’t get copied though

Had them ..but gave them to a kid i know ...well.i m not a kid any more ...but i sure play alot with them

Five figure set all whereing helmets no shorts

I have all this in my collection. Air Fix,Mars,conti,TSSD,Austin minitures. All nice. But each brand. The 1/32 scale are deferent. Especially air fix. They are slightly smaller. My favorites are TSSD,Conti,Austin miniatures. But this brand's are really well sculptured and detailed. BMC I think are the worst. The american and Germans look deformed. They look like aliens with long necks and big heads. Lol!

Airfix butchered the MG34. By the way they did an even worse job on the MG34 in the standard German Infantry set.

You mention they have a bayonet but I think it's a spade.

Yes it is because the stock looks like the rifle stock.

It's NOT an MG42, it's very obviously a MG34... Too bad the Airfix sculptor had probably never seen a real MG34.
