You took my anxiety away! Just bought one, and was getting worried that this is a finikey plant that require extreme humidity. I thought I would have to keep it in a clear trash bag it’s entire life! But after watching this video, I feel better that I can treat it like my other philodendrons!

I probably tell myself I don’t like them to convince myself not to buy any since I don’t have room. I mush prefer the glossier leaved climbing philodendrons that I’ve been collecting. It’s nice to see your beauty actually growing in a regular pot out in the open. I’m so used to seeing all these must-have fuzzy leaved creeping philodendrons (Verrocosum, Gloriosum, Melanochrysum, Gigas, etc & most anthuriums) as sad cuttings or stumps with 2 leaves full of brown holes that have to be nursed back to health in a plastic Tupperware full of sphagnum moss with a humidifier under grow lights in a clear plastic tarp or “greenhouse”...not exactly the showpieces that they are growing on a wall in an outdoor grow house.

I’ve had really good luck with putting cotton batting all around the leaf and stem and then placing it in a ziplock or sealed plastic bag. It provides humidity and cuddly transport. 😁. Of course, if it’s a cutting I wrap the bottom with sphagnum moss and cling wrap. This also provides a little moisture. Awesome video as always Jimmy!

Oh I haven’t tried that method. I usually just do moss like most others, but I don’t really ship much anymore. It seems that the packaging game in the community has improved a ton overall, which is great for buyers and sellers.

Thank you for this fantastic video! 🌟 I’m glad to know that my plant should acclimate. I recently bought a verrucosum on sale. It has a decent amount of foliage, however it has been allowed to grow trailing downwards. I really want to stake it so that the leaves can get bigger, but the plant is so wiggly that it looks a bit difficult to manoeuvre without damage. Not sure whether to leave it or propagate part of it 🤔

  • @littleminna

Mine is dying 😭. I got it 7 months ago and it was doing great, it was growing really fast getting taller and taller. So I got it a mosspole, but had to put it in a larger pot otherwise with the heavy moss pole it would tip over. So what I think happened is that the pot was too large for the small amount of roots it had, and the soil took too long to dry, even though I've got a good well draining aroid mix. So it's leaves started yellowing rapidly. So I repotted it and put it in a smaller pot according to it's roots. I couldn't see any root rot though. But now it's still continuing to deteriorate. It's loosing one more leaf and it already only had three left. And the other two leaves look weak and limpy. What am I doing wrong? It's in a spot where it gets some morning light.

Hello. I have got a question. I have a philodendron verrucosum. It has 4 leaves. Recently I cut a mother leaf (because of yellowing) which originally was trimmed in half. After I cut the leaf, any new leaves come up - it grows second new node without a leaf :-(. Can anybody help?

  • @strayargus9382

This philodendron is very picky in my experience lol. If you are in sub tropical it’s easy for you but not in colder and dryer zones.

Mine doesn’t either. I suspect it’s due to my relatively lower humidity around 40%. Maybe it needs much more for the aerial roots 🤷🏻‍♂️
