Lovely selection of plants. Even though the plants are not yet in bloom in the front the different textures and shapes and colours of green carry the show. Please could you stand back and give us a view of the whole of the front yard. Wish l could drive by, its a show stopper. Well done. Love from England.

I am in MD, zone 7a/b. I have lost a bunch of little bunny grass over the years. Have learned they really hate wet feet, especially in the winter. If I plant on a slope or plant mounded/“high”, they generally make it.

I love pentas. I teach at a church preschool in GA, the younger 3s class. For Mother's Day, the kids planted flowers in small galvanized buckets that they painted. I chose three different color Pentas for the flowers. They turned out so pretty.

You should check your area for a local hosta society. We have one here in North Alabama, that's amazing. They do an annual sale, where I've been able to get some really unusual hostas.

I am glad you made the garden your own. As long as your husband and you are happy, that is all that matters. Everyone has different tastes in the amount of plants one chooses to collect. Several months ago I cheered when you removed the overly “cluttered” plantings of your predecessor. You streamlined your yard and made beautiful choices in your plantings and it looked very zen like and relaxing. However, I now think you have gone overboard and it looks way too cluttered with a plant every few inches and it is no longer the calming paradise you had a few months back. I’m sure that is probably just my opinion. I applaud you and your husband for making it your own and I wish you the best with your garden journey. I always enjoyed your house tours, but that is probably better done in the winter if you so choose. God bless you both! 😊

I have been thinking of your comment. A garden can be simple and calming, which makes it feel relaxing, but it can be filled with all kinds of textures and colors at different heights which makes it interesting and energizing. Like a visit to a plant nursery, exciting and fun.

My husband doesn't like to get out and help other rhan mowing, blowing and edging. He is more of a straight plantings in a row of all one plant kinda guy. He would like a row of boxwood across the front of the house and that's it. Boring. I am more like you and like a lots of different plants. So you're lucky.
