Plantar Fascitis Evaluation on a Patient
In this video, I see a do a plantar fasciitis evaluation on a patient with active plantar heel pain and I give some pointers on how to address this very difficult recalcitrant plantar fasciitis. I have treated hundreds and hundreds of plantar fasciitis patients some with great ease and some with great difficulty. Feel free to shoot out any questions you may have or even treatment strategies that work for you. Enjoy!! Make sure to check us out at www.orthoevalpal.com

Great info doc !
I’m so glad I found your video. I broke my 5th metatarsal a year ago. I think I developed planter fasciitis during my healing process (soreness in mornings, soreness on bottom foot, and more) My calf was ALWAYS FIRM. Still is! My ankle seems to retain fluid. The side I broke my foot has calluses, so does the middle of my foot. If you can help me find answers, I’d greatly appreciate it!!!
I've even had plantar fasciitis surgery, nothing seems to work!!!🤬 UPDATE: HAD MY SURGERY LEFT THEN RIGHT, 4-19, 5-10 2021, RESPECTIVELY...It's now 8-27-21, I am in Therapy to rub out any remaining scar tissue, but just wanted to say that I am doing 70% better than ever... I can last sooooo much longer on my feet than ever before with PF. As I have a ways to go, I don't regret the surgery. It really helped a lot!! Please do your feet and calf stretches...IT MEANS EVERYTHING TO YOUR FEET. Best of luck to you all 🇺🇲❤️🦶🦶

Do you know if it was the surgery that helped? As opposed to it getting better by itself?

@@aroundandround OH NO, IT WAS NEVER GOING TO GET BETTER BY ITSELF!!!! I WAS IN PAIN ALL THROUGH 2020 DUE TO COVID, 2021 CAME AND MY DOCTOR DID SURGERY AND NOW I AM 80% BETTER!!! I GET BETTER AND BETTER EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! MY DOCTOR SAID WHEN HE CUT THROUGH THE PLANTAR FASCIA ON MY LEFT FOOT THAT IT WAS LIKE CUTTING THROUGH A CABLE!! I AM SO HAPPY THAT I HAD THE SURGERY!!!!‼️‼️‼️ AND I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS!!! IF YOU ARE NOT FINDING ANY RELIEF AFTER A YEAR PLEASE FOR YOURSELF GET THE SURGERY DONE!!!!!!!‼️‼️‼️‼️ TO HELL WITH WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT NOT HAVING SURGERY!! IT WAS THE ONLY THING THAT SAVED ME!!!! I CAN'T RUN YET, BUT I DON'T HAVE THAT PLANTAR FASCIITIS PAIN ANYMORE!!‼️‼️‼️ THE ONLY THING I CAN'T DO IS RUN LIKE I USED TO... AND I CAN'T BE ON MY FEET FOR HOURS AND HOURS... BUT I CAN DO SO SO MANY THINGS THAT I COULDN'T DO BEFORE!!! AT THIS POINT I AM 100% HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS ‼️‼️😍😍 DR ZHANG, KAISER PERMANENTE, MORENO VALLEY CALIFORNIA 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

What are your thoughts on the abductor hallucis tightening and compressing on the tibialis posterior artery leading to plantar fasciosis and presenting with similar symptoms to plantar fasciits? How would you change your treatment between the two?

Hi Drew, I would emphasize foot biomechanics and try to get this foot more neutral. I like to use a coflex wrap and compress that area lightly as I pull up the medial arch a bit. If that help, then I recommend an orthotic, calf flexibility etc... Hope that helps.
hey, thank u for the videos god bless !!im A 32 year active male and I tore my plantar fascia last year i stayed off it to let it heal ( no boot ) and hardly tboxed after seeing as how covid has emerged. i recently tried skipping rope bare foot which proved to be a huge mistake, it was never a problem with shoes but the minute i did without shoes it immediately hurt and now its a week that i have pain under my heel and my sesamoid. im trying to stay out of the hospitals, the pain isnt as close to what it was when i tore it last year? what should i do? Thank u for ur page !

Getting into decent running trainer footwear and not going bare foot at all would be a good start 👍🏼
My plantar fascia is uncomfortable to stretch, but I have no increased pain in the morning/after inactivity. I first felt tightness in my fascia doing a plank last week... my hamstrings/calves are decently flexible too. Any thoughts? Thanks

A plank should not affect your facia and if you do not have pain walking after a period of inactivity it probably isn't Plantar fasciitis.. Maybe the flexor hallucis longus. Need a good evaluation

Ortho EVAL Pal With Paul Marquis Thanks for the reply... I do have discomfort lifting my toes up and sitting on my toes to stretch the facia, the pain is below the ball of my foot, just into the arch when pressing it. I researched about the flexor hallucis longus and I couldn’t find much at all on recovery times or much about it at all. I don’t have access to a physiotherapist right now due to COVID-19 of course! I just attempted getting into the plank position and sunk down on my right foot (the injured foot) to see if it was still bothering me. There was a very sharp and intense pain that ran through my foot... One last thing, whilst browsing for flexor hallucis longus problems I came across turf toe, is this the same issue as a tendinitis in the FHL tendon? I wouldn’t really describe the problem as a toe problem, more a foot problem if that helps!! Thanks, I’d greatly appreciate a swift reply as I need to get back playing football (soccer) ASAP! cheers!
Could the tight hamstring actually be a positive slump test?

A tight hamstring can increase neural tension but it's the addition of neck flexion that can bring it to life and make a positive slump test
my son 7 years old fell from stairs and habing so much pain in that area, can't even walk.but no broken issue.what to do??
