I was diagnosed with Plantar Fascia in 1998 had the Cortizone injections over 12 months then had physiotherapy on my feet then hard plaster casts made of my feet for the shoe inserts then got a night boat to put on to go to sleep Then started having steroid injections into the arches of my feet then I went and had the operation then went for an MRI scan and was told I had it for the rest of my life and all this cost me a lot of money 😩

As a semi retired builder I am going through this process right now. When I stopped working full time I began to have these issues with my left foot. Although I was able go get through a full day at work I was in a lot of pain throughout the day. My wife talked me into getting a Dr. Scholl's insert for my shoe and it helped quite a bit and things very slowly began to improve. I was wearing a cheap pair of tennis shoes from Walmart I used for spray painting in houses and got another huge improvement. I bought another pair of the same brand and can walk around it these all day now. Just shows there is something unique available to help a lot of people with this condition as long as some effort is applied to experiment a little. Don't give up trying different things.

You HAVE to put in a GOOD pair of shoes with a arch support (look up the egg arch support). You have to do this from the moment you put your feet down in the morning until you get in to bed at night. Believe me. This heals heal spurs. It’s takes a while but it also gives you relief while healing.

I would explain different way: When you start to walk first, pressure is on the big toe, then the pain starts, in other way all weight is almost carried out, simply just treat the big toe problem. Once the pressure is reduced, the heel spur is free. You may think would it work, yes it does work. treatment is done on the lateral side of the malleolus, possibly 4 fingers above search for the pain just below the Gastro and Soleus. This is my view and work over 90% good. I don't study like doctors but I got hands on>

There is a procedure to freeze the nerve which relieves the pain immediately for PF. Very few Podiatrist’s will do this though due to fear of malpractice or insurance premium hikes.

If you are one of that 5% of folks who require surgery, what I am doing to avoid that (due to the fact that I am a long distance runner) is getting stem cell injections since the muscle tissue is damaged for me. I can tell you that as a runner, this plantar fascia is a big distraction and has now come at a point where I can no longer train for ultra marathon (50+ miles) races anymore. Some of the treatments listed in this video has some success. Hoping within the year everything works out. Another option that has worked for me (at least temporarily reducing pain) are ice baths for the feet.

I've been doing all this for 2 years without relief and have finally given up on my very missed long walks. I really think mine needs to be surgically removed because the pain is so severe right at the spur and it's a bump I can feel, even if I were to walk barefoot I can feel the puffiness there. I have worn good shoes and custom orthotics for 20 years but my right foot just won't give up this time. I will be trying the frozen water bottle multiple times per day. Hope this helps. I'll have to try all of these out. I really don't want to have to depend on special orthotics. I have a huge heel spur and I had to stop running because of it. I'm going to incorporate these stretches, icing etc. Massage seems to make mine worse. I watched another video on supplements so I'm going to try my best to incorporate those as well and some other recommendations from another video. Worse comes to worse I might do what my mil did. It's an indigenous practice in part of Mexico where you get a stone and hit it. Probably needs to be done by someone who knows how to do it. But it got rid of her heel spur that 3 surgeries didn't permanently get rid of. Super super painful though. Good luck to everyone!

I first had thisnpain about 4-5 months ago... then it subsided.. but again have been suffering from pain for last 2-3 weeks... just after I wake up is worst... just found out today that this is the cause... dorsal spur on the left foot and plantar spur on the right. Reading comments and the whatever I have heard, seems I am screwed as a marathon runner and a corporate cricket player...😭

Another explanation: As we age muscles get weaker and our foot arch gets "lower." This lower arch (flatter foot), stretches the ligament. To compensate for the tighter ligament, the bone attachment (“spur”) then grows longer. Growth is facilitated by inflammation. Too much inflammation and you experience pain. I had this and injected 1.5 cc of Kenalog directly into the spur area. The steroid diminished the inflammation (but, of course, did not stop the bone growth which you WANT). The problem resolved after only one injection, but I doubt "one injection" would work on most people.

The heel spur is a sign that the plantar fascia is tearing away from the bone and there is stress on it! The heel spur itself shows up only after the plantar fascia is tearing out. When you look at how thick the heel fat pad is, the spur is tiny and is not even pointing down where it could cause pain. The true pain is the plantar fascia pulling away from the bone.

Plantar Fasciitis or Baxter’s Entrapment ? Some cases of Plantar Fasciitis may actually be Baxter’s Entrapment. In fact, the clinical picture may of Baxter’s Entrapment and Plantar Fasciitis can be virtually identical. Baxter’s neuropathy may account for up to 20% of heel pain cases,1,2 although it is frequently misdiagnosed. If it is misdiagnosed as Plantar Fasciitis then traditional Plantar Fasciitis treatments could be ineffective, or actually make the condition worse.

This video is a bit outdated- newer information discounts using ice and anti-inflammatories as well as cortisol shots. Heat is better than ice because you WANT to bring more blood flow to the area to increase the body's healing response, and anti-inflammatories do exactly what they say- stop inflammation. Yes, it helps w bit with pain, but inflammation is your body doing its job to heal an injury. Also, you need to ensure that your calcaneus is mobilizing properly during gait- while stretching your calf in a standing position, bring your other leg in front of you and across to the side that you are stretching- this will start to mobilize your foot correctly- often overpronation and pes planus (flat feet) are big contributors to plantar faciitis in conjunction with tight calves. Also, make sure to strengthen glute medius as weakness in this muscle will translate from the hip down the kinetic chain to your ankle..

You have to think of plantar fascia I as an actual injury like a broken ankle. You can't just take a pill or rub some cream onto a broken ankle and have it heal overnight. Plantar fasciitis is actual physical damage to the plantar fascia ligament on the bottom of your foot, even if you are doing all the right stuff it will take some time to heal. The average time for complete healing that we see in clinic even doing all the right stuff such as stretching and wearing orthotics is roughly 50% pain relief and healing per month. It's not normal to have an instant cure, so when you watch this video this is information one minute, it's completely unrealistic to have complete healing within one minute! There are plenty of scams out there that try to make you feel like you can have your pain go away in literally one minute! This isn't what we are trying to say here, we are trying to show you that you can get better over time and have confidence that you are getting better.

@@suhairadil1580 Adil even I have the same problem don't and I suffered for 3 years, now I have cured it completely, don't get it operated, firstly what i did was I used to run 8 kms uphill everyday and the shoes I used was in a pretty bad condition and I didn't notice that slowly my planter fascia got injured I didn't consult doctor for 1 year thinking its just normal pain and heel spur developed in both of my heels, doctors advised same thing to me to get it operated, I researched and then found a multi pronged approach solution to this problem, 1.First thing is I was 73 kgs when I got this problem and after this increased and when I was unable to walk I was 96 kgs, so I started to reduce my weight through diet and upper body exercise and reduced my weight to 70 kgs in 1 year I cured this in my 4th year or say after suffering for three years 2. Wear gloves and put lot of ice cubes into a cloth and apply that on the sides and center of the heel you have to do this alternatively with hot water fomentation both should be done for 15 mins thrice a day, that is early morning when you wake up, in the afternoon and at night before going to bed, one more thing don't add salt to hot water fomentation you have to get magnesium sulphate and put it in hot water it is available in veterinary stores because this is used to treat foot problems in cow. 3. Use the R. O. Aquaguard filter or Kent filter as foot roller, put it in cold water and then remove it and roll your legs on it, or get a official roller orders from flipkart and roll your legs on it, use a tennis ball also, first roll using roller for 5 mins then use tennis ball for five minutes, this should be done instantly after icing and fomentation. 4. This one is very important while sitting on ground or on sofa don't ever sit with your legs closed, sit in the yogic posture of Vajrasana, google it this will actually increase the blood flow to the heal this is the only exercise which actually increases the blood flow to your heels, after icing, hot water fomentation, rolling with standard roller and tennis ball you have to sit in this position for 20 mins it's difficult in the beginning but you will get used to it and in the later stages you just try to sit in this posture whenever possible. 4.This is very important and this should be the first point, get MCP medical slippers,if you are from India it's easily available, don't wear anything other than this but 2 pairs and use one inside your home and one for outside purpose remember not to get this wet because it will loose the shock absorption capacity if it gets wet, as soon you wake up just don't stand on your heels go to the stairs and stand at the edge of the stairs only by placing your toes suspend it down and then raise up do it 30*5=150 times before placing your heel on the slippers first time in the morning. Now at first start your day by A. Stretching your foot on the edges of steps. B. Icing and hot water fomentation for 20 mins thrice a day using magnesium sulphate salt mixed in water C. Rolling your feet on standard roller and tennis ball D. Sitting in Vajrasana pose for 20 mins after third step, 5. Now we have to concentrate on getting you a good orthotic so if you are from India then you can go to shapecrunch hospitals and get yourself a custom made orthotic which will cost around 3.5k and you can easily use it for 1.5 years they will scan you foot and will provide you a proper orthotic which you can use with your shoes and they have the best podiatrist you can consult him if you want which will cost you around 1k rs, 6. Selecting the shoes, since the problem is related to the arch of the foot much care has to be taken with respect to you toe and the finger next to it, so select any shoe which is flat that I'd which does not have any arch. And place the orthotic inside it and wear it whenever you go outside, one more thing which is very important is you have to always maintain a space between your toe and it's next finger while wearing your shoe so place a silicon spacer between 1st and second toe while wearing the shoes and when you are at work try to sit as much as possible at least for one year when you treating your planter. 7.This is a continuation to sub point D. You can consider this as point E, the most important part the exercises the main parts you have to exercise and get them strengthened are your thighs, hamstring, glutes and you have to stretch your calf do more reps and do it for 1 year continuously along with strict diet you will definitely see results. For exercises I will post the links in another comment below separate exercise glutes and calf, for thighs you can do squats. I don't want even my enemy to have this disease, may God bless you with good health, I wish you recover fastly don't ever get operated. Follow these things religiously. My friend don't ignore this it will really work, you have to whip the laziness and start doing these activities again, all the best.

So I’ve been dealing with this now for around 8 years. I am fine in the mornings. It gets progressively worse the longer I stand and or on my feet even walking. I’m fine with my custom fitted orthotics for around 3 hours. After that the feet pain and eventually heal pain starts coming on. It gets worse the more I’m standing in one spot or minimal walking. I have to have a job that I do more sitting and or driving to go along with minimal walking or standing around. I believe the pain to be more from heal spurs than fascia but I really think it’s a combination of both. I had the shots. Didn’t work. Not really wanting surgery as I’ve read it is usually unsuccessful for most patients. Anything I can do to get over this. I’m looking at dealing with this all the way into my retirement and I don’t wish that.

Heel pain can go away by eating these. I am having"heel pain" on my right foot. I exercise my heel pain foot by rubbing the pain area of my heel against the edge of the stair in order to relieve the pain. I also observe my heel pain go away after drinking the "boiled Artichoke" (I boil my artichoke with corn to make nicer taste). However, artichoke is seasonal, meaning cannot get it in winter!. However, I observe after eating dates (Californian dates or Turkish dates... ) about 5 dates per day... having the same effect like "boiled artichoke". That is my heel pain goes away ... Try it out to see if these things will help you

Plantar fasciits is definitely a tough problem. We find it is a biomechanical issue that does take a very long time and a ton of effort. Weight loss, weight reduction and LESS exercise on the foot and less stretching let's the inflammation cool down

I used to do a lot of balletic leaps, jumps, bounding etc and loved the feeling, when arches were strong and feet very "springy" but now the thought of even one tiny 6inch jump fills me with fear of my bones and ligaments no longer being trustworthy and reliable. Probably best to give jumping a miss and just stick to other forms of exercise that do not involve pounding the poor old foot arches so much. I find stretching on the floor or a chair beneficial and some of the standing exercises. But the heels and soles of my feet and ankles soon start to ache if I punish them too much with stand up exercising. Maybe later, when they heel more I will try more standing by ones. Be It will take time to heal and I vow I will never ever get so physically slack and lazy as to allow plantar fasciitis to ever return. Last time I had a bout of it was many years ago, as a teen. Exercise kept it away but when I thought I was fine and stopped so much physicality, mainly because my peers told me I was "too old" for it and made me feel like a social misfit for trying to stay young, well, the pain return. So they all cheered and said "join the claim, we all get aches and pains, so why should you get out of suffering the same". Yeah, I got it "social acceptance" among peers, but I though physical pain was too high a price to pay for being "accepted". So I am back to my old anti social ways, exercising, working, moving, thinking, creating, learning, raising hell etc. Anything you keep healthy and avoid doctors etc. Worth doing it all, just to feel better, especially as one ages. Being around a whole lot of whingers commiserating about how awful it feels is definitely not my idea of a happy birthday long well deserved retirement. Shit happens and more often as we age, though the oldies who suffer from constipation, from lack of exercise beg to differ with me on this matter. But, so what?!? Everybody is going to end up calling it, anyway.Even the sweet beautiful young millennial creatures working out daily, eating so righteously etc etc. I just focus on putting it off for as long as I can. Mainly because I am a procrastinator, but only when it comes to things I am not keen on eg dying. Oh, I know there is eternal life after death and it's cheaper to live there, too eg even if you end up in hell, the electricity heating costs in winter there are not as bad as in cold southern Australian winters. But, with no physical body to enjoy using to do exciting things eg make love etc, I can't imagine how the afterlife without even one's existing crappy worn out old body could possibly be any fun, really. Sounds like a bit of a con job or scam to me.So,I'm playing safe, taking care of my present decrepid ageing body and delaying the be inevitable as long as I can put it off. I hear one can travel faster in a wheelchair than by mere walking. But I prefer to get there slower, on foot, thank you. Which is why I simply cannot have plantar fasciitis to slow me down to a halt. No way! It simply has to go.
