    Used Waymo In the city, went great. I would use it over Uber any day. Looking forward to getting it in San Mateo.

    @@guitarexpert2245 people make mistakes robots dont, i know its not perfect yet but i really want people to stop driving, i want robots to take over, 'fun' fact = every year milions of people around the world are dying in car accidents i want this to stop

    I hope AVs can free seniors from being confined in their homes to places they want to go, especially given the lack of alternatives to driving in the East Bay. Once the problems are ironed out, that is.

    Lack of alternatives? AC Transit, senior shuttles, BART, uber, lyft, cabs...there's all kinds of alternatives, what's missing?

    @@mrsleep0000 half of those require technology or apps that seniors have trouble using. The other half have very poor coverage re reliability. I’m thinking Concord, Martinez. Have you tried to take a bus anywhere in the suburbs of those places? Walking to the bus stop alone is like 30min. That’s a hard ask for a 75 year old.

    This is what is important to us in the Bay Area. How much excess can perpetuate. Driverless cars, AI talking to us instead of talking to real people. Anything we can do to actually accomplish nothing. Having people in other countries do the coding for products and services they are completely disconnected from. Generations before us built monumental architecture spanned bridges across treacherous waters.

    i love automated driving! cars do not drink, take drugs, get emotional and abusive, or speed. better for safety! i'm a bicyclist, a pedestrian, a motorcycle driver and car driver

    Automated cars also don't have the *brains* of a human driver with years of experience. FSD is nothing like a human driver. Waymo either.

    The real solution is more public transportation, along with better designing cities for people, not cars. We need less cars on the road, and at slower speeds.

    A human driver doesn't get stuck. An Uber driver is better than most people. He has many more miles on the road, and he's seen it all.

    @@daydreamer8373 And why are you an expert? The only one that benefits from driverless cars are the companies who make them. Loosing interaction with people is terrible for society. You have a driver and have a conversation. No drivers people become more isolated. Technology is not good people need to interact with one another.
