I bought an Artillery Sidewinder with an interest in making small parts and eventually printing planes. The more videos I watched, the less interested I got in doing it. BUT! I was prepared to laugh at this video, but that eagle flew way better than I expected and looked super cool in the air! Since we didn't get to see the second time it went it, did it do something similar? Are you sure you lost control and it didn't mush around and stall on downwind turn? I have a foamie Bangood Eagle that flies great but looks terrible. Yours is enough to interest me again. Nice work!

Thanks, I learned a bit printing this bird. I probably should have flown higher. I may try the seagull EDF next as it's a smaller build.

That is why mine is just hanging from my ceiling. A lot of hours of printing and too pretty to see mine end up in pieces.

Oh dear, looked a bit directionally unstable Jakey....Ive a couple of printed planes, they look great but feel too heavy and too fragile to risk flying....Kudos for flying Mode 1 m8....🤔😮😏😀

It's got a vertical clear perspex fin, maybe I was flying to slow to have ailerons authority? Oh well, shlt happens😁

it seems that the CG is too far back. My eagle had the same characteristic. Then i managed to get more weight in the nose and it flew well! Much better than before!

Thanks, sadly it crashed due to motor failure and is no more.

So many flights end with all control lost. Makes me wonder about modern RC transmitters and receivers. Beautiful model that seemed underpowered but otherwise a good performer.

Had plenty of power, and elrs link was good. Possibly flying to slow so didn't have much soldering Aileron authority?

Pity, coz it looked mint. That 360 cam view didn't work though. Difficult to gauge perspective.

Nice work. I feel your pain on the print time verses air time. I print a lot of planes and have found the strategic use of fibreglass and carbon makes them a lot more robust.
