it just add parts...it stays simple...it doesn't become "complex"...and doing simple things can be very complex...and there's nothing wrong with simplicity, it is in facts the ultimate goal and the hardest thing to get right. But yeah there's no evolution from simple to complex that you claim. The add simple arrangement parts. It's simple throughout, there's none of the complexity of some Aphex Twin tracks (or some Plaid tracks as well) and it's not a bad thing.

Plaid should be way more popular than they are. Their level of knowledge into music theory is dizzying and achingly beautiful. You don't hear transformations like this in other music much. They kind of remind me of The Penguin Cafe Orchestra in their level of experimentation and execution.

Pure ascension. The powerful mysterious force of the universe lifting me upwards and swirling around me. And just as the intensity peaks and I feel almost overwhelmed, it puts me gently back on the ground. The return to the bassline reminds me; the magic is always there for me to find. This was but a glimpse.

Why do people who have nothing nice to say bother saying anything at all? Possible influence in future compositons? Why express disappointment towards an artist whose integrity has never been in question? Plaid write honest music. Music that they want to write. They dont write for me, or for you. We just so happen to like it or not. Personally, this track, like most plaid material invokes true purity and transports my mind to an awesome world. And if it didn't you wouldn't know about it. I hate Justin Beiber music and I have disliked tunes from bands that I like, but I will never share my negative thoughts publicly in their domain because why? I dont like watching a gazelle get eaten by a crocodile, or pigs give birth, so I dont watch it. I dont waste my life calling the crocodile nasty or asking the pig to squeeze the piglet differently.

most people never thought about the idea of "artistic integrity" and have no idea how hard it is to make art.

  • @Demowan

Art is a flock of shadows dancing on the wall of the cavern. It is interesting to experience, as the creator or the receiver. Art is an attempt. Then the ultimate answer behind the core of truth which resides in art, is something only the heart can comprehend. There lies the nobility of art, in the very fact that it is one valid way to approach the Truth, where intellect, or emotion without the act of creation, are (probably) incapable of producing awakening.
