This knit is easily tied using forceps as well! Notmsure about the audible pop when it seats as my ears ain't what they used to be, but youmcand definitely feel it! Great know for old mumble fingers like mine

You really don't need anywhere near that much tag. One of the best virtues of this knot is that it eats up very little tippet which allows you to change flys multiple times before adding new tippet. That much tag negates this advantage.

I was going to say basically the same thing. 10 inches is excessive and wasteful. Since we have a finite amount of line to work with, we need knots that use a little line as possible. I think 3-4 inches is plenty.

Don't you use this knot for dry flies on trout, the bulk of the knot spooks the fish (light reflecting in the knot).

This does not seem to be the Pitzen Knot. This makes the knot much thicker by twisting with the whole loop does it not?

this really waste a lot of the leader material.

I'm confused, he never mentioned pulling the knot loose after tying to produce a loop on your fly. I pass the tag end behind the running line and wrap three and one half times, then put the tag end through the loop and pull tight (a quick Hangman's Noose). This knot has 95% of the running line strength.
