Been a great year for you as far as content! Love what you are doing, given my first car was a 76 Celica coupe. These cars were such rust buckets in the North East U.S. but drove better then any car in their class at the time. I always wanted the liftback, but couldn't find a decent copy at the time due to rust. Had I lived in the South, I might had found a good car. When I did get to Florida, I had a Mustang and left the Celica behind. . .now wishing I still had it. Great show, still amazed that car has no paint and isn't totally brown with rust, a true testimony to how dry Australia must be.

Yeah its definitely lived a good life here in WA. More so now as it only ever leaves the garage on warm sunny days. As soon as I find some decent doors I'll be getting it satin cleared so its a bit more rust. Just playing with a few different metal treatments now to see what will look good - I'm thinking of trying a brushed effect. Thanks for you support over 22, and all the best for the new year. 👍

Cheers, Cam - thanks for all the excellent content in 2022 and beyond! The new steering wheel and shift knob suit the car well.

Thanks mate - the shift knob came off in the end - very uncomfortable to drive with and didn't make any difference to shift feel so we're back to the repro oem. Steering wheel stays tho. All the best for 2023. 👍

As a long-term celica lover (owned 3 ra40s and an ra28), I have really enjoyed your content and can't wait for 2023. I do have to register as a hayer of your shift knob though.

Glad you're liking it and thanks for watching, as for the gearknob it didn't really help the shift feel and doesn't look as good as the repro OEM so its already come off 🤣

Another good video! Happy new year mate - looking forward to more videos and progressing my own car! Btw - you said the pitman arm was SX5421, but it’s SX5241 (as per the box). I was wondering why I couldn’t find it when I googled what you said instead of what the box read 😂😂

That ending! Haha!! Flashing through the year of ‘Hi Guys’ has left me with a question… Do you use the same barber as Ray Martin? His hair never changed either 😂

What a bonehead move, glad i put the pic of the box up, might try to mute that bit so it doesn't confuse everyone. As for the hair, much like Ray Martin, its a fibreglass prosthesis 🤣 HNY to you too mate.👍

As a non Toyota owner (besides a modern Corolla) the more I see the suspension set up on these cars the more I realise I misspent my youth with buckets of crap. The caster rod is a tension strut style set up keeping things tight for better predictability & the rear suspension kicks ass over other old leaf spring cars. Escort guys spend thousands of dollars changing things to what the Celica already has. The only thing they did wrong is the steering box instead of a rack & pinion, most stopped using a steering box in the 60's. I should of been killing $100 hairdresser cars in the bush 20 years ago! Great video once again Cam! P.s not putting the tyre under the sills when on jack stands makes me feel uncomfortable, it's way better to be crushed slightly than squashed if it comes off the stands while shaking the suspension. Your use of non impact sockets on a rattle gun also gets my OCD senses tingling even though I know they aren't necessary.

Lol - I live life on the edge 🤣 I actually bought a set of deep impact sockets.... but i accidentally bought 3/8ths set. Steering rack would have been great, also wish they'd stolen the 240z style IRS too but hey its pretty decent for late 70s. HNY mate.

Hey Mitch, good to hear from you mate. Thanks for the input, definitely sounds like mine might be backwards - I have to pull them at some point to swap out the bushes, I'll swap them around then.
