She's not underrated, stop using that damn word. She won awards for her character in Skins long before her Hollywood career. She was great in Crawl but nobody bothered to watch it and 'underrated' actors don't get roles in high profile films like this and Resident Evil, as crap as it was.

The compass thing drives me crazy. Yes he's given away the compass many times in the past. Also this movie shows him getting the compass from his dying captain, but in Dead Man's Chest Tia Dalma said he bartered it from her. I thought that was incredibly lazy writing for this movie.

The reason why Jack Sparrow was always nervous around "Jack the Monkey" is because The Monkey would act crazy or go bananas with Johnny Depp...so Johnny would use his natural Nervousness/Cautiousness about the Monkey for Jack Sparrows Character.

They can get extremely violent very quickly and even the small ones aren't like a human baby or even like a small child. They're much more stronger than most people would think. And I know this isn't really what we're talking about but in my understanding an adult chimpanzee is at least 8 times as strong as a strong adult human male. If it felt like it it could rip your arms away from your body with very little effort and I'm mentioning this only to give people an idea how strong and fast even the small ones are. That gives you a big reason why you should be nervous and cautious around them 😅

He was really good in that so is Liam Neeson and I think Uma Thurman's in that one as well, I can't remember who the girl is in that one, definitely an excellent movie though if you can ever find it I can never find it anywhere And I wonder what happened to the other two Pirates, The Odd Couple that was in the first three movies and then disappeared, I wonder if they died on the Black Pearl when it was taken when Blackbeard seize the ship. Well they can always make other Pirates of the Caribbean movies with other Pirates somewhere, but they certainly left it open for another sequel

Great reaction of the fifth movie of this saga. Honestly this movie I sort of like it alongside the fourth one. Although I didn't enjoy it that much. I quite remember when I went to see this movie when it was released back in 2017. Captain Salazar I think it was an interesting villain, portrayed by Javier Bardem. His breathing sound added more presence to his character. 32:32-32:40 The concept by which they can't touch land meanwhile they had the curse it was sort of like reused. Because if we remember Davy Jones couldn't or was unable to step on dry land except once every ten years. But sort of a difference is that the Flying Dutchman's crew could step on land as we saw it on the second film when they went after the chest. In here Salazar and his crew couldn't because they would end disappearing or disintegrating like it happened to one of his crew members. Also I think this was because Salazar and Davy Jones had two different curses. 46:02 They shouldn't have killed Barbossa. That's one of the things I regretted from this movie. He was one of the best characters of the franchise.

This has been quite a journey. All of these have been so good without missing a step. Over $4.5 billion worldwide. Biggest of the theme park based-films from the mouse house. DMTNTs increased so much lore and more darkness. Bloom & Knightly back as the Turners was so cool, Geoffrey Rush as Barboosa had an incredible arc (demise unexpected) and Sir Paul McCartney as Jack's Uncle (great cameo). That post-credit scene had so much promise and possibility that we'll never see POTC 6. Depp being let go by Disney over false rumors was a horrible thing. After his proven innocence, he chose not to come back anyway. So we still wonder about this franchise's future. I heard that a spinoff was in the works. Other than this, it's just what Jack said himself. "It's not so about the destination, it's the journey".

De aging ? I don't think it qualifies as far as CGI is concerned , but in the Dustin Hoffman feature LITTLE BIG MAN his story is told from very old through extensive flashbacks . The de aging is achieved practically through make up and acting skill . If you have not seen it well worth the viewing .

Thanks for giving the whole series a watch! As I've said multiple times, it's super nice seeing new eyes on the films. This movie for me was interesting, but it's the one in the franchise I've agreed 100% with most of the PotC community on. It's bad. Objectively a terrible entry in this franchise. So many important inconsistencies. Namely that it contradicts Jack's origins as a pirate captain, the ship that would become the Black Pearl, and how he got his trinkets. Tia Dalma, or Calypso, traded the Compass to Jack. His ensemble/outfit is from years of adventures, and friends/allies showing their appreciation to him. The Black Pearl was formerly "The Wicked Wench" which is a ship from the ride, but also featured in the novel "the Price of Freedom" and the flashback scene in this movie. In the novel the ship is burned as Jack's punishment for choosing not to transport slaves as cargo. Which is a vastly different origin from what's seen here in this flashback. All of which *feels* like the writers of this movie really didn't care about established canon, and wanted to make their own addition regardless of how their retconning would be perceived. Most egregious of all is that they did nothing with the stinger at the end of On Stranger Tides. Angelica finding the voodoo Jack doll amounted to nothing. There's lots of other things that affect this movie, too. Johnny's heart not being in it due to the Amber Heard stuff, him being actually trashed on set for the whole shooting schedule... Shooting primarily in Australia, and using heavy amounts of CGI even for the backgrounds... The villain being changed halfway through pre-production, changing the whole story, minus one or two things. It just lacked the correct group of people that really made the first three special, and I think that hurt it most. That said, when it came out I still was excited for it. It looked worse than OST, but I was just hyped for another entry in my favorite franchise. The novelization released like... The day or two before the movie, and I read through it all in its entirety in that short amount of time. I felt like the novel did a better job explaining some things than the movie. ...but then I saw the movie, and had a good time. I wasn't fuming or beyond enraged by it. I just had a good time watching a movie. I was disappointed by the things I noticed that were definitely off... but at the end of the day, it wasn't a terrible ride. Just not one I was keen to get back on any time soon. If they do another PotC, it better have Johnny. If it doesn't it absolutely *will* fail.

I liked this one. Certainly better than the 4th one. And I'd probably re-watch this again over the 3rd one. Not sure if I'd put it before or after the 2nd one. Obv the 1st one is the best...

Judging from Jack Sparrow's ever growing ulcer on his face, his well known way with the ladies, and his apparently increasing insanity.. I think he may have syfilis (which can affect the nervous system as early as 1 year after infection) moving towards insanity and are looking for any way he won't die raving mad. Weather he gets cured by eternal life or die from searching for it is inconsequential.. as long as it isn't death by pain and raving madness.

@@grabtharshammer , that's a hell of a way to comment. Either you intend to say I missed something obvious (which I may, my attention tends to wander a lot) or you remark on the obvious. The first could be done better, the second is redundant (only 4.5% of the planet has English as their first language while 36% make use of English on some level, while practically everyone with some form of internet connection visit/use KZread sooner or later). Either way you chose an offensive way to comment, so which is it? Should I even care? Should I just mark you down as bored? Or, By Grabthar's Hammer, should I seek to smite you with all alacrity?

It would have been perfect. Even tough i didn't like the movie, the plot and the ending should have been on the 4th movie as the epilogue and then... no more PotC.
