11:42 pm, Sat, Feb 18. I want to thank you both (and Andrew) for your fantastic videos. I taught public speaking (and debate) for 10 years in college and 25 years in public high schools. Your videos, if I still taught, I would be asking you to allow me to show students one of, as an example of the best elements of informative presentations. Excellent factual history presented by people who passionately love their city, their city’s history, and who love sharing all that with viewers. The lively, natural way you present all this info, and clearly play off each other so naturally, is refreshing! I truly enjoyed the video! Went to New Orleans in September of 2021 just after the hurricane, my friend and I took the food tour, it was truly enjoyable 😉! I hope to go back one day, I truly hope that ya'll take good care.

Awesome video guys...Some of the Baratarian & Lafitte's activities are touched upon by Barbara Hambly's historical fiction books that are set in that era and is centered around characters that were free blacks in the early 1800's. I recommend the series & it was recommended to me by the lady in Faulkner's Books ! Right about where you started this video (it's a small world). Roby - if you got it flaunt it !

From what I've come to learn, he's bad by TODAYS standards. (Because of slave trading, and could become ruthless if crossed.) Otherwise yeah, he was rather personable. Like Capone or Pablo Escobar in terms of morality. Generous and friendly to most,but vicious when it came to business if necessary.

I've always wanted to try Absinthe. Some day I'm bringing my butt to that place to try it. Lol
