Pirate Camp Co, ARB dual compressor install - HGT Next Gen Raptor Ranger Build!
We finally get around to installing onboard air in our next gen raptor ranger. We decided to go with the Pirate Camp Co dual compressor bracket and the Pirate Camp Co tub switch panel to match our ARB dual compressor.
I originally ordered the ARB ranger specific kit but with supply issues we decided to cancel it. After many discussions with Pirate Camp Co I come to realise their bracket location would be just as good. Already knowing the quality of Pirate Camp Co products, it was an easy decision to change.
The installation process for the ARB dual compressor is quite easy with the raptor ranger using these brackets. The hardest part is getting the compressor stripped and aligned to mount in the Pirate Camp Co bracket and even that’s not too hard.
After that its simply just bolt in place and run the wiring. With the Next gen ranger raptor having roof switches and a trigger wire next to the compressor mounting location makes this step simple as well.
The Pirate Camp Co tub switch panel is really well thought out, with 3 switch locations, 2 Anderson locations, 2 cig socket locations and a place to mount the ARB air chuck. There is endless options on what you can run on it.
We decided to install 2 cig sockets, 2 dual USB switches and 2 Anderson plugs. When we sort out the battery this will give all the options for powering anything required.
The ARB air chuck sits well and as flush as possible it does sit past the edge of this panel but well within the profile of the tub lip overhangs. It is easily accessible and easy to use.
We decided to not use the Pirate Camp Co filter relocation bracket and changed the filters for a different style that sit just above this panel neatly out of the way.
Overall, the Pirate camp co brackets are a good option. Even though the compressor sits lower than the ARB kit, it is still well out of harm’s way. The cost of everything worked out around the same as the ARB kit but you end up with the switch panel so its better value depending on what you are wanting to do.
The Pirate Camp co gear is Australian owned and made. I highly recommend checking them out.

@HappyGoTravel Would be great if you can share more technical details in your videos, like where did you get your GND, the ID/OD of the hose you used for relocating the air filters, where did you take the GND for the switch, etc

I'm exactly the same as you man with ARB gear, not a huge fan, but I did get the twin onboard compressor from them to install in the new Prado, got the tank too, is there a reason you didn't get the tank?

They’re definitely stuck in the past. I was undecided on the tank. The more I thought about it, I decided I don’t really need it. I have a bad habit of just doing mods because I can 😂

quick Q? why did you have to run wires up to the battery ,. i thought all you need to do is hook up the compressor to the factory fitted wires up the back ?? let me know as im looking at fitting one soon as to the filters i would have fitted a 90 deg bend and ran them more flush to the tub

Twin compressors draw close to 80a sustained. The factory wiring isn’t rated that high

The factory fitted wires are the back are the trigger wiring - so it switches the compressor on/off. The wiring to the battery is the actual power for the compressor. The ARB twin compressor pulls 50amp (25amp per compressor). For things like camping lights, you can wire these up directly to the factory wiring as there are able to take the power of a light directly without dedicated power. Depending on the AUX switch will depend on how much amp it can take.
