Oh, yeah. One of the reasons why Loverslab exists is that NexusMods doesn't allow mods involving "that" kind of content on their site. They drew the line very visibly with Fallout: the frontier, only allowing it back when all of the fetish content from the mod was removed for good.

that's a good thing, because now we can make some damn good voice acted mods with the vanilla voices. a lot of modders struggle to find quality voice actors and many don't get any good people to do the roles, so they end up having no voices or some dude is trying to sound like a women and you can clearly tell it's a dude lol. i will take this any day.

IIRC, The Outer Worlds actually used a commercial license of ElevenLabs to fully voice the game, where voice actors provided lines for story-critical dialogue, and for lines that they don't have time to record in the studio, they just let the TTS program sub in for them.

A handful of the newer mods for FO4 are already utilizing it for exactly that, I believe I've only seen finished mods that replicated the player characters voice for custom dialogue in the mods quest line but I'm sure we will see its use implemented to replicate known NPC voices as well sooner than later.

To be fair Fallout Fans are responsible for The Frontier, Oxhorn, that weird deathclaw stuff, and well the modding community is… not to say the Elder Scrolls is much better like I’ve jested about in the past, the Elder Scrolls does have some bad people with some Lust Argonian stuff. I did hear about the Sims mods yeah the CP problem there got pretty bad. But that’s Nexus’s problem, pretty sure Loverslab doesn’t have moderators.

@@SpaceMissile I recognized that it was AI when Piper started saying "as a journalist, I strive to do yaddda yadda". AI speech has certain patterns that it defaults too so you can pick up on it with enough experience with them, and something about that sentence reeked of AI. I worry for the future though. How long before it gets too seemless to notice?

AI will make a huge difference in the modding community. Take modded quests for example. Mod authors can now make their own lines that fit with the dialogues properly without making it sound like it's not natural and forced. This is insane

Hey, now that's not fair, Reddit (or at least the Fallout and Skyrim modding parts of it) *hate* LoversLab, and I don't just mean 'rules that you can't post about it', I mean if someone even mentions a mod that's only hosted there, even if it's a non-sexual mod, half the subreddit starts calling them degrading names and treating them like subhumans.
