    Hi. nice and completly review. I got the Pioneer tsWX130EA, it doesnt came with remote controler, neither LPF, so I bought one on aliexpress, simply to filter over 100 hz. I saw the graphs and I agree with cut it at 100. after all, speakers came up to 80hz.. so is a nice blend there. Another thing is the gain control. I review a lot of videos, and using a multimeter, I set it a little bit less than half way. And sounds really loud, so by the headunit I adjust the volume of the sub. So thanks for your review, it helps me a lot and helps me to improve my setting. Cheers from Chile.

    I love classic rock music and love to hear good bass. However, bass is the foundation for the rest of the music, lead guitars, keyboards, vocals, cymbals etc. My son has a moster sub in his car but all you hear is the bass and not the rest of the music. I saw thunder live before the pandemic and they had the best live sound quality I've heard in quite a while. For sure, the bass pounded your chest (I was at the front) but the rest of the music and the vocals were crystal clear. It was fantastic. One of the things i love here on KZread is getting to talk gto people from all over the world. My Father in Law was in the English concert singers and they toured Mexico, Peru and Chile about 17 or so years ago. Most of S America is on my bucket list! I think you're the first who's ever mentioned being from Chile. So, a huge thank you from the UK. Enjoy and stay safe my fiend.

    Thanks for the 3 great videos. Because of u, I bought the Pioneer ts-wx400da. It's the in general lesser known but bigger brother of the 130da. I bought the stuff u used and followed your instructions, tried it in the boot of the 9-3 but found it to be lacking. I have a LHD so I put it on the passenger seat. Exact same experience, blown away by the amount of bass as well as the depth. Crazy good value. 1 thing to note though with the wx400da, it is quite a bit higher then the 130. It means u cannot put the seat in the furthest rear position so it's not completely ideal if u have passengers longer then 185 on that side. If u can live with that concession, the bass presence and Soundstage fill up is more then well worth it. So thank u for the videos again, it's day and night soundwise I cannot go back :). Now how to kill the rattle and plastic death traps... I fear the worst haha

    @CycloneCyd

    Awesome, thanks for taking the time to make that input. The compact size of the wx130da was one of it's attractive selling features. There's a bar goes across from one runner to the other for the fore aft mechanism and it just fits under that with less than a cm to spare. Yeah, those door trim rattles. Gggrrr, they make you wanna tear your ears off!

  • @DM-co4vh

    @DM-co4vh

    @@CycloneCyd yeah that bar is whats in the way for a flush finish, luckily the sub is not that wide so I can live with that. The rattles seem to come from everywhere in my 2003 Vector. Besides the door panels, door handles en switches, under the dashboard, behind the center console and A pillars. Saab did address it somewhat in later years. Would interesting to find out if there is some tech info what measures they exactly take to solve it. Felt tape, better isolation of plastic vs metal parts, sound dampening... Looking forward to your suggestions👍.

    After going back and forth for a day, I finally decided on this sub for my 14 fusion/mondeo. Did you consider the Infinity basslink mini or kenwood ksc-sw11? I had a hard time deciding. ultimately the speaker sensitivity and previous experience with pioneer leaned me towards this unit. Thank you for the informative video! you won me with the comparison chart.

  • @CycloneCyd

    I did consider the SW11. It's cheaper than the 130DA by quite a margin, but ultimately the written reviews I mentioned all rated the Pioneer above the Kenwood. No regrets here, it bolsters the music nicely (just gotta sort all the rattles now, lol)

    @@lukesargent9413 We have an Aygo that has factory door speakers, dash speakers and tweeters. I’m installing one of these subs next week as personally I find the speakers can provide clarity but no base, so hoping this gives me what I want. Worst ways I’ll have to upgrade the two dash speakers, preferably don’t want to touch the doors just to save complexity. Wiring in is easy, I’ve already pulled all the wires in ready. There is a large rubber grommet sort of right hand side of centre of the bulkhead as you look down from the engine, which can be shared with the two heater matrix pipes that pass through there for the power wire to the battery. The cable can be seen poking through from the passenger footwell when you pull it in. Earth can be taken from a bolt fixing from one of the seats. Remote wise, we have an aftermarket pioneer stereo so it’s already pre-wired (with a Pioneer to Aygo adapter harness) for the remote wire, which easily drops down the back of the head unit and heater controls, poking out in a similar location as the power wire…same goes for the RCA’s. All wires can then be fed down through the centre console and under the seat.

  • @CycloneCyd

    @CycloneCyd

    2 жыл бұрын

    The dial isn't marked, but I have it on about 100Hz (about 2/3 the way round). What I did was select a rock track* with plenty of bass and used a sound analyser app to see where the bass from the fitted speakers starts to roll off (about 100Hz with my Hertz speakers) and then set the xover at that point. I've also got the gain set at about half way. I was only really looking to 'fill in' where the door speakers were lacking. It has lots mor oomph than I'm using, but I like to hear all the music, not just the bass. *summat from AC/DC, but can't remember which track

    I am wondering how you attached the sub to the vehicle? I have been advised to bolt it to something solid, which makes solid engineering sense. Also there is some suggestion in the Pioneer blurb that it is designed to be down firing. I am not sure how possible that is in most cars but the underside of my VW van seat is a flat metal plate. Anyway it's on order. Looking forward to installing it. Thanks for the video's.

  • @CycloneCyd

    @CycloneCyd

    It does come with brackets so you can fix it to something solid (direct to floor, to seat frame etc etc) I don't remember seeing anything in the instructions about down firing - can't see how that would work. In my Saab this fits just nicely between the seat frame runners, so all I've done to 'fix' it in place is use some strips of self adhesive Velcro to stop it sliding back and forth. If your van floor is virtually flat metal, I would put an area of sound absorber on the metal before mounting the sub. two layers directly under the sub and extending a foot in all directions amzn.to/3Ap5vzq
