Thanks dude! I wanted to buy something like that but many people told that is not worth money. After your video I am going to buy it. I think it's better way than combine with normal speakers without amplifier.

Have bought two, one into a stationwagon (under passenger seat), the other into a small campervan (between the passenger and driver footwell), I can confirm it's great stuff. Proper gradual adjustments. You can use it without the remote attached to minimise cables and save space, but the frequency response is worse then. I just keep the remote plugged in for best sound. I turn the gain to less than half, this way the bass is not overbearing, but what the music's author intended. Low pass Crossover set to around 85-90 Hz. High pass at 120 on my full range speakers, at 24db slope.

Great test...thanks so much! I also enjoyed your install video...super clear instructions. 👌. I love Pioneer products and need something to give me the base I'm missing in my Golf Cabriolet. I was deadset on the Pioneer as it fits perfectly on the back panel behind the back seat. However I then learnt about RMS and the Pioneer is the lowest at 50 RMS. The only other one which is priced and sized the same is the JBL Probass Nano...also love JBL. That has 100RMS....now I'm really confused. Already upgraded the speakers to Focal inside and have a Kicker 4 channel amp but although the sound is much cleaner...the bass is missing. My heart says Pioneer but my head says JBL based on RMS. What are your thoughts? My audio guy said the sound would be lost in the boot but we tested a JVC active and it was fantastic. Only problem is it's too big for the space. Please help. 🙏😀

Have this same speaker in my 2000 Wrangler... it was lacking bass all together with just 2 small front speakers and 2 small speakers on the sound bar ... but holly wow, this addition was amazing, it really adds the missing bass I was looking for... 🤘🏼 had to mount it on the side of the transmission hump in the passenger floor... 🤷🏻‍♂️ sounds amazing tho... install was a breeze being I already had a pioneer head unit... just used the quick connector clamp type wire splicers... had to get an rca extension tho. You can’t connect it without one, not sure why it doesn’t come with it...

Excellent review and installation videos. You helped me making the purchase. I will install it in my Mercedes 190E, that came with 2 pairs of 4" speakers cracked up, which I changed for 2 new pairs of MTX speakers, 4" too, and the bass is not very available... Hopefully this Pioneer sub will raise the bass up a little bit. Cheers!

That's exactly what I needed. I wanted a little sub bass added but not enough to destroy windows. How's the sub bass sustain/kick? I am just trying to sprinkle on a tiny bit of sub bass not a whole lot.

Yeah mate I'm just running my speaks off my headunit in the Jeep and goes great :) That said, depends on the head unit and depends how much sound you want. Maybe go off headunit first and see?

Can definitely tell a big difference with headphones plugged into my phone. Question, how is the gain graduation on this? Can you really get various levels of base by adjusting the gain, or is it pretty much all or nothing in reality?

Hey mate, looking at getting it cause it's on sale locally at the moment and a lot cheaper than a standard sub/amp combo will cost. Bit of a silly question but I'm not wanting over the top bass, just something to add to the music, that being said. Could I install this the traditional way in the boot instead of under the seat? So I get an even sound throughout the car, as it won't fit under my seat. Cheers for any feedback! Great video!

Thanks for the great video. I’m debating where do I put mine. Under the drivers seat, passenger or in my boot (trunk). Will I be annoyed that it’s just on the one side of the car if put it under 1 seat . In the boot (trunk) it’s at least in the middle of the car, but then at a cost of its further away so will it not be as good / fit fit purpose?

Under seat will be fine, it's just bass so not like it's directional if you know what I mean.. in saying that in the boot you might get a bit more boom as it may act like a seperate enclosure.. maybe leave the cables at full length and try both before running the cables proper?

Can't say for sure as haven't measured or anything but when you have the lpf right down it does play the real low stuff. It's prob more of a case of how loud (ie not very)

Do they overheat or something? I'm going to buy one for under the passenger seat and I've read on amazon reviews, that sometimes they overheat and turn off every 30-45 Minutes

They're very similar, even connectors the same, Kenwood remote has blue led pioneer doesn't. Pioneer maybe slightly had the sound edge in my opinion. I'm planning a battle vid now with a decent sound meter and just the subs running so can direct compare. Hopefully have this up in the coming weeks 👍

Hey Mate, I’m choosing out of getting this sub or a Kenwood PSW8, they are the same price. On paper, the Kenwood is better. However, it’s bigger (not necessarily a good thing, I was told a smaller unit sounds better) and I’m not getting a sub to blast.. but to fill in the missing space to enhance the listening experience. What one would you choose? Any recommendations? Cheers

These are almost identical in every way (Inc sound quality, maybe pioneer with a slight edge to 'tightness') even the loom is the same. Only real difference is the kenwood has blue leds in the remote 👍

@@VideoShowMeHow oh really? I read that the Pioneer was 50rms versus Kenwoods 150rms (both peak at 250). Honestly, I find the blue light on the control offputting lol. Regardless, what would you choose?

i have stock speakers in my 2013 chevy cruze is this worth getting i will upgrade the speakers maybe but not till next year the speakers sound good enough for me atm. just says the wires need to be spliced to use in my stock unit since theres no rca plug

@@forest427 yes you could splice into the power but the RCA connection provide the audio signal from your head unit. Without that the sub will power up but not play anything if that makes sense?

@@VideoShowMeHow The TS-WX130DA comes with a power wiring harness as well as an RCA input harness. The power wiring harness has 16.25' lengths of 18-gauge power wire (with an in-line 10A ATO fuse) and 18-gauge turn-on lead, plus a 6' 18-gauge ground wire. The RCA input harness allows you to connect the subwoofer to an aftermarket stereo via RCA cables. If you're connecting to a factory radio (or a radio without RCA outputs), you can cut the RCA plugs off of the input harness and splice it to the speaker wires. An RJ-45 jack is provided for plugging in the Digital Bass Control cable. If you are using speaker-level inputs, the amplifier will automatically turn itself on when the head unit is turned on. When the head unit is turned off, the amplifier will turn itself off.

You'd still need power if it's Bluetooth, so there's no point in making a Bluetooth speaker since there will be cables regardless.

Hopefully you get one of those bad boys to test out so a comparison can be made. My wallet is telling me to go for the Pioneer as its the cheapest at Super Cheap Auto, but also have heard Alpine and Kicker make quality products that last. 1st world problems mate!

@@VideoShowMeHow I did go to my local Autobarn and Repco. They dont have these under seat subs on those wall displays. Only the huge subs sadly. Those guys reckon the Alpine S8 will be a bit better than the Pioneer, but that might be because they want me to spend more, it is $100 more for the Alpine. Hahaha! Will let you know how I go. But these pioneers sound pretty good on your video when I wear earphones. I can feel the bass in my face!

You would get more boom in the trunk than under the seat as you'd get an extra enclosure effect 😁

I just installed this same Sub to my old Hilux, for years I've had 4 pioneer speakers with pioneer head unit and to get bass there was massive distortion. Installing this completed my car audio system and now sounds premium, but to be honest I was hoping for a bit better bass, I can't even hear it driving along because my car is so loud...

Just search 'Jeep Android Headunit' on eBay or Amazon :) Just make sure you get one with a canbus for your year model

Hey, I prob wouldn't say this would be heavy bass. It is just enough to round out the sound I reckon. There is a bigger version of this by pioneer, maybe that would be more suited.. could always just run 2 of em 😁

You'd get a better idea of how good it is with a full spectrum analyzer not just decibel reader. There's an app for that.

Hey, do you know what's the difference between the Pioneer TS-WX130EA and the Pioneer TS-WX130DA? I've read through some stuff and it only says, that the DA has dynamic bass control, does that mean it has more bass? The DA is also 7cm bigger compared to the EA

Im having an issue, I installed this on a Ford mustang 2015 and everytime the car reaches 1500 revolutions it makes a strange noise, just at 1500 but otherwise it works absolutely well, does anyone knows what could this be related to?

Hmmm you may be able to if you found some sort of RJ45 splitter, the remote plugs into the unit itself so may not be possible

Would you reccomd this for the new Isuzu d max, or do you recon its stock sound is enough.. Getting mine next year when they finally launch in Namibia.😁

If you’re sold on this video test just means you were gonna buy one anyways, I hear no difference, this things you have to listen live for yourselves! Cuz when the real bass comes next to you on a crappy car..., anyways if you want clean bass to your normal stock sound; just for you and passengers without shanking or ear hurting then this is it. Think of it like bass for older people

Wtf are those factory speakers? My 06 vw has its original sound system and it vibrates the mirrors

its not really bass its just slam/punch

Not really much difference is it ? It’s about £100 or something but there’s literally nothing there sound wise

Yes it's a definite difference. Just difficult in a test like this to hear as very dependant to what you are watching this video on 🔊

I guess I can't here a difference sounded same both ways maybe need get my ears checked

prob moreso the speakers the sound is being played from

I think it sounds good but what's the point showing a subwoofer when there's no bass music pretty stupid

Hey, thanks for the comment, there is plenty of bass in this test, may be what your listening with on your end. Sound tests are always hard to replicate vs real life for this exact reason :(

@@VideoShowMeHow The bass clearly comes through, I'm listening on a Marshall Stockwell II. I think I'll get me one of these for my old Hilux (2001)
