Il PinTest viene eseguito sia sulle api regine madri F0 sia sulle api regine F1 da esse provenienti
Il Test si esprime al meglio quando l’alveare si trova in condizioni di equilibrio ottimali e per avere un dato attendibile va ripetuto tre volte durante la stagione apistica:
in primavera quando la colonia ha raggiorno un buon livello di sviluppo;
tra la metà di Maggio e la metà di Giugno: tra i principali raccolti in funzione della fascia climatica;
in estate prima di eseguire i trattamenti contro la varroa.
Non eseguire il pin-test in presenza di un forte flusso nettarifero, di una grande infestazione da varroasi o contestualmente ad interventi nel nido da parte dell’apicoltore che stravolgono l’equilibrio della colonia e fanno sì che le api concentrino i loro sforzi su altro: questa operazione è da farsi in maniera esclusiva.

The test is best expressed when the hive is in optimal balance conditions and in order to have a reliable data it must be repeated three times during the beekeeping season:
- in spring time when the colony has reached a good level of development;
- between mid-May and mid-June: among the main harvests according to the climatic zone;
- in the summer before performing varroa treatments.
Do not perform the pin-test in the presence of a strong nectar flow, a large varroase infestation or at the same time as interventions in the nest by the beekeeper that upset the balance of the colony and cause the bees to focus their efforts on something else : this operation is to be done exclusively
